Regular Member Emiry Posted August 23, 2023 Regular Member Share Posted August 23, 2023 After my first surgery I was really patient/scared and day 14 is when I had them all removed. I am happy with my results (for the most part) Just curious when did others have their scans completely gone or tried to remove them and if are happy with their results. Each clinic has different instructions, some even advise the day after etc. I don’t really care to know that, more interested in patient experiences.
Regular Member BackFromTheBrink Posted August 23, 2023 Regular Member Share Posted August 23, 2023 First time it was 7-10, second 4-5. That said, second time I didn't really have that many since it was a very refined surgery.
Valued Contributor A_4_Archan Posted August 23, 2023 Valued Contributor Share Posted August 23, 2023 @Emiry There is no relation between scabs and results....anyone can remove them after 10 days but even if they stay on for long and if they fall off on their own which can take more days than also its fine....its just that it looks visually better without scabs and if someone don't have any issues with the appearance of scabs for long than he/she can let them fall off on their own....they don't harm in anyway.... 1 Check Out My Hair Transplant Journey --> My Thread 3611 FUE Grafts With Dr Kongkiat Laorwong | Norwood 5 | 2nd May 2023
Rahal Hair Transplant
@Emiry, Personally, I started scab removal between day 4 and day 5 and the process was completed around the 7th or the 8th. Of course, this process varies for everyone and every doctor has their own unique hair transplant post surgical instructions. In my opinion, it is important to follow your doctors postoperative instructions even if they vary from another surgeon’s directions or what another patient has done. Because each doctor has their own philosophy and methodology, in my opinion, follow your doctors instructions for best results. I know there’s no harm in them staying for long, but I wondered if removing them early would have any negative consequences. I guess people don’t give too much thought into this. Regular Member secondtryuser Posted August 24, 2023 Regular Member Share Posted August 24, 2023 Isn’t the idea that you don’t specifically ‘remove’ them, more that with gentle washing over the days preceding the surgery they gradually erode away? The notion of removal conjures up specifically picking them off your scalp. I don’t think that should be done. Instead, gently wash your scalp and let them come off naturally.
