I know I’ve posted about this very issue a few times, only to be brushed off. However, this issue only appears to be worsening and I’d love to have others opinion on it. Is it retrograde? Dupa? I have no clue! I’ve tried researching it but nothing resembles what kind of strangle hair curling I have specifically on the nape (the rest of my hair is straight. Additionally, the hair behind my ears seem to be thinning as well!A7EBEAFF-A100-46EA-A8B5-6C63130721A2.thumb.jpeg.bb034086c25c259d3dd705567a6fba42.jpeg

Seems to be run of the mill retrograde alopecia but you'd need a specialist to be sure it doesn't extent to the donor zone, it which case it could be DUPA

HahahahHAHAH I seriously just can’t lol. I’ve posted saying I think it was retrograde about 10 times now on different forum all to just be considered crazy or accused of having BDD. Thanks for the input

*facepalm.. There's no end of clueless morons online. Probably worth consulting with on of the doctors listed here for diagnosis and treatment even if you're not ready/wanting surgery

Its hard to say, the area above the ears is naturally less dense and has finer hairs. You can't be sure unless you get a specialist to look at in person.

But if you had to ask strangers on the internet, which includes me. I would say I am slightly leaning towards it being retrograde alopecia rather than not. When the hairs are being pulled into opposite directions on your last picture it does indicate to me that there is less density than someone that does not have Retrograde Alopecia

You really need to speak with an excellent dermatologist. You appear quite young and you may find medication may well halt or reverse this. All the best!

I have been to 4 so far and they all seemed to have relatively shallow knowledge concerning hair loss. I recently met with the head dr of the cosmetic department of SpringHill dermatology (which is apparently one of the best clinics for hair) and they essentially brushed it off.

However, I have been on finasteride for a year (with only continued worsening) and recently switched to dutasteride. Hoping this works because if it doesn't, ill be out of options.

i've had a similar experience with dermatologists. They are useless when it comes to hair restoration.

you may not be looking for a hair transplant, but id say a hair transplant doctor is going to be the best kind to diagnose you with whatever it is going on.

@Aspectthere is something going on so imo you should go to a hair transplant surgeon for a check up..most of the dermatologist will not have much of a knowledge about hairs
