Cradles your neck minimizing the risk of rolling over, less pressure on donor area, and if crown transplanted, than may provide some barrier between crown and the conventional pillow, or recliner head.

The reason is to keep your head upright and your donor area from making contact with the head rest when sitting on a plane for example. The same when sitting up upright in bed to prevent your donor area from rubbing against pillows, etc.

Protect the grafts and donor against damage and infection.

Hair transplant is a serious surgery, you get 6000 holes/injuries (average) on your head that need to heal.

What are your opinions on this neck pillow? Thinking of ordering this. Seems to give more space between head and bed than a "regular" one.

I will not recommend it.

Get one that will hug your neck so there’s no danger of you rolling over to sleep on side.
