My journey with FUEcapilar with Dr. Dogan Turan

Hello 👋

This is my honest review about Fuecapilar in Turkey, Istanbul done with the surgeon Dr. Dogan Turan. As a doctor myself, I’m gonna be giving my opinion on every aspect of this journey.

Thanks to this community I was able to choose this clinic for my hair transplantation. Thus, I would love to share my results with you with some pictures and honest thoughts about this clinic.  I have alopecia level NW III. I had my surgery yesterday 26th April 2023.
I received approximately 2130 grafts in the temporal and frontal area. The donor area was primarily the occipital area. The price was 3250 euros ( including all transportation between airport -hotel-hospital and 2 night-stays at a 4 star hotel). The flight I had to pay myself.

I got in touch with them via WhatsApp and their worker Ahmet was amazing! So professional and very caring. That’s also why I choose them. I got all the information needed and it’s true that the waiting list for surgery is approximately 4 months ( for me at least )

They came and picked me up at time every time. Super nice people. Great experience with the translator Halil.

The day of surgery was great. Dr. Turan was great, the only cons is that he doesn’t speak much English, and there was nearly no verbal interaction through the whole day, which I was missing. The tricoscopy, hairline design and implantation was done by Dr. Turan himself. The extraction was done by a technician as promised. The time under the surgery was fun, hearing colleagues having fun while working with some Turkish music in the background, not feeling any stress.
The operations room is ok, they were wearing sterile gloves, open window, so I don’t know if it’s a no-go in some clinics, but I mean it’s a superficial surgery (subdermal-dermal level), so being super sterile is not so important here I guess.

After the surgery i received antibiotics, painkillers and steroids I will have to take for some days. Day 1 after surgery there is a control a a first wash, where I get more products for hair wash , opportunity for buying anti hair loss medication (Finasteride, topical Minoxidil and vitamins)

They offer 2 nights at Ramada hotel near the clinic which is located in Avcilar area. So don’t expect yourself to be in the middle of Istanbul.

To summarise I would say I would recommend this clinic so far, mainly because of the professionalism, but just wait for my results which would be coming the next days, weeks and months.

Here are the first pictures before the surgery and day 0 after the surgery

I also went with Dr Turan, 5 months ago! Looks like a very similar case to mine :)  Your pictures all look very good to me so far!

They told me to keep my head straight and don’t look down at all, so be very careful! I can see you’re looking down in the photos, it will cause bad swelling around the eyes :(

I look forward to updates, happy growing! :D

Happy growing...I'm also thinking to select Dr Turan for my hair transplant. Can you please share some pre op pics with long hair? How was the pre op consultation with Dr turan at the clinic?

It was super smooth. As I mentioned he doesn’t speak English, but everything is translated by great translator. He was humble. And mostly I would recommend them because of there professionalism. I still don’t have any results about mine yet,  but I couldn’t find any bad reviews. You can contact them anytime and ask for Halil or Ahmet for consultation. I loved these guys and they will give an honest opinion about what you need. (And say hi from me 😉)

Here are som pre op pics. I only had hair loss in my temporal area, no hair loss from the crown area.

let me know if you need any help.

Regards,

Dr. Sami

i see. If there's a translator then thats not a problem at all..I havent seen bad results from Dr Turan too. His good price together with his consistent results show why he is so popular in Turkey.
Also as i have seen he does a few patients per day. Do you know if Dr turan was doing other surgery the same day with you? and in general how many patients per day he does max per day?

Yes i agree

what i experienced, he does max 3000 grafts per patient per day. And 2 patients per day. So patients who need more like 4000 grafts ( one I met at the hotel) they need to do it in 2 days.

I needed 2130 grafts, so they extracted 1000 grafts at the first session, then implanted them, lunch break and then another 1000 grafts again, which I good for grafts survival

Dr turan is definitely an ethical surgeon who cares about his patients and take very good care of them by dedicating much time with each one of them and taking just 2 patients per day.

It seems like in Turkey you can find many good and safe clinics at decent prices, which are value for money options.

This is very good that by 1000 grafts extraction or so, the implantaion is done just immediately. By this way the grafts stay out of the body for very little time, thus ensuring high survival rates

There are many great surgeon in Turkey, but I love the fact that you get both quality surgeon and fair price with Dr. Turan.
I also heard great thing about Dr. Gür.

Here is the results for day 10

So satisfied and all the crusts are gone now 💪🏽

I see they added some grafts to the mid-scalp as well. what was the reasoning behind that? it seemed like most of your noticeable hair loss was on the temples.

After they scanned my head with a trioscopy, Dr. Turan found some areas in the middle of my scalp where it was a little bit thinner, that’s why he added some extra grafts there

“The extraction was done by a technician as promised” - I’m currently researching and I’m still inquiring so not got proper details yet. I thought Dr Turan did everything.

Not the extraction part. Dr. Gür does both extraction and implantations though.

an experienced technician can do the extraction as good as a surgeon I would say.
