Regular Member SoSoz Posted April 20, 2023 Regular Member Share Posted April 20, 2023 It looks like Im having retrograde alopecia on my nape area and sides. Will this exclude me from potential HT in the future? Because I am currently on finasteride second week, and not sure if there is point continuing taking it, if I wont have possibility to have a HT because of retrograde alopecia. Any advice? Regular Member Rafael Manelli Posted April 20, 2023 Regular Member Share Posted April 20, 2023 You need to wait longer than 2 weeks to see results from finasteride try 6 months. Retrograde shouldn’t exclude you, but yours seems unusually severe. Give the medicine time though.
Valued Contributor A_4_Archan Posted April 20, 2023 Valued Contributor Share Posted April 20, 2023 Let the meds work for at least 6/8 months and than see how much progress you do...retrograde alopecia will not totally hamper your chance of ht but it will probably be a hazzard ...if you have extensive loss on top thn retrograde alopecia will be lessen your ht chance but if you require fewer grafts on top than doctor can manage to take out the grafts from donor which are not affected by it...so it will depend on your grade of baldness on top.. Senior Member HairEnthusiast101 Posted April 20, 2023 Senior Member Share Posted April 20, 2023 Is it getting worse? The back isn’t as bad but the sides don’t look great. If it was to stay like that I’d assume you could get some grafts for sure but don’t know where it will end up
