Post FUE Exercise

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

First and foremost, thank you all for this wonderful resource. I spent a good 6 months researching my options and this forum has been invaluable, resulting in a FUE operation scheduled with Dr Gur in Turkey in a little under 2 weeks time.

The one thing I seem to get conflicting results for, no matter how much I search, is the first few weeks immediately post-transplant. What exactly can I do? Must I stay inside and do no exercise at all? When can I start going for walks again? When can I start to work-out properly again?

Thanks in advance!

I'm pretty sure Melvin has a video he made on this. But this is something your doctor really should be emphasizing to you. Trust me. If you need good communication by doing your research before choosing a surgeon, you will definitely need it even more after surgery. This is why I always advocate that patients who have a consultation with a surgeon should always ask what is their policy if you are not happy with the surgery. Apologies for digressing a bit here @Tyrion16. But around two weeks post FUE you can pretty much go to the gym (not the same with FUT). Speak with your surgeon but if you follow all of his post op instructions you will be surprised how quick you bounce back post op with FUE. Wishing you all the best!

It's best to discuss this with your clinic on what they recommend. I was advised by Eugenix that I can do gentle walks & stretching during the first 7 days. After the 7 days I was able to resume all activities. I ended up not going back to the gym until 2 weeks as I found my head was still sore so lying on a bench or doing high intensity exercise didn't seem that appealing to me.

@Tyrion16,

Unlike FUT/strip, you don’t have to worry about scar stretching or putting tension on the donor wound. However, it’s advisable to lay low for the first week so that the newly transplanted hair follicles have a chance to fully take route underneath the surface of the scalp. Other than that, your advice to proceed with caution and use your best judgment. For example, starting with some light cardio and light weight lifting makes sense and then gradually increase as you feel it’s appropriate and that your body can handle it.

I hope this helps.
