Senior Member HairRun Posted September 26, 2022 Senior Member Share Posted September 26, 2022 (edited) I had my latest surgery by one of the best in the world (Dr Shapiro + Dr Josephitis) , and would prefer to stay with them since they are one of the best, and them and their staff are familiar with my physiology. However, I don't think they specialize in beard transplants since their website doesn't list that. What would you do in my situation? At the moment it's just beard grafts into FUT scars, not into the midscalp or anything like that. Would it still be best to go to one of the best in the world for BHT like Dr Bisanga? Or would someone else best in the world who you're a past patient of be better, even if the team doesn't appear to focus on BHT? Moderators Al - Moderator Posted September 26, 2022 Moderators Share Posted September 26, 2022 Are you in the USA? If you are only doing BHT into FUT scars then you are probably only looking at a few hundred grafts and it may not worth flying to another country to get such a small procedure done. The travel cost will make the total cost of the procedure higher than if you stay in the USA. The only reasons to go to another country would be: 1. If you can't find anyone in your country that you are confident enough with BHT to do the procedure 2. If you are planning a much larger BHT session later and want to try a test of grafts into the scar first. If this is the case then it actually may be better to find a Dr who you are seriously considering doing the larger BHT procedure. Senior Member HairRun Posted September 26, 2022 Author Senior Member Share Posted September 26, 2022 Yeah, I eventually want to do a larger scale BHT procedure in the future. At the moment, I don't think my mid scalp nor edge of the vertex has enough loss to warrant BHT though I would be open to it if doctor feels is best. I also haven't done a FUE yet so I don't have FUE sites. Right now it's just looking like a few hundred for 3 FUT scars.
