Regular Member bsass Posted September 25, 2022 Regular Member Share Posted September 25, 2022 Hello Guys, I am 2.5-3 weeks post surgery from Dr. Luis Nader getting 3k grafts. I wanted to get some feedback on resuming my Rogaine treatment. Dr. Nader asked that I wait until the 3rd week to resume. If Rogaine helps to regrow hair, generally speaking wouldn't this improve the growth response on the newly planted follicles? Overall my experience with Dr. Nader was great and I plan to post a surgeon review with pics in the coming weeks. Thanks in advance for your help
Rahal Hair Transplant
Bssss, Rogaine/minoxidil can irritate the scalp which is why you were advised not to use it for a couple weeks after hair transplant surgery. However, 2.5 weeks to 3 weeks, I see no reason why you can’t start using it again. After all, even your doctor said you can start using it by the third week. You are pretty close to that so you can either wait a couple more days or begin using it again. Senior Member A Fue Good Men Posted September 26, 2022 Senior Member Share Posted September 26, 2022 Yes, minoxidil will help follicles anywhere they are applied, including transplanted grafts. It won’t thicken transplanted grafts per se, but can potentially push them into the growth phase sooner.
