  1. Hey Gatsby, yes that is what I mean derm/doc, transplant specialist, etc., etc. I am not talking about results. I am purely asking for help on products to use in lieu of oral fin I went off oral for a week and then moved to topical fin/Minox.
  2. Hello All, I am approx. 6 months post 3k grafts with Dr. Nader. For over a decade I had been using oral Finestride and Minox foam. During that time I would not see any shedding but the crown seemed to slowly degrade hence the transplant. Post opt I decided as I am getting older (mid 40's) I would like to stop using oral prescription drugs. Since getting off Fin. I've noticed stronger erections, increased mental focus, less anxiety, and an overall improved sense of well-being. I guess after so many years I learned to live with these side effects. I started on a topical Fin & Minox combo from Hims. Within a week I noticed shedding, all be it very light, it still bothers me. I get conflicting information from Hims service since you do not get a dedicated doctor it's whoever responds to your message. Some say shedding is normal and others say the drug won't work for me and I need to be back on oral. My questions are: 1) Do you recommend seeing a doctor in my area to get specific feedback on my situation? If so, any suggestions in the Los Angeles area? 2) Is shedding a sign it will not work for me? Any feedback is appreciated
  3. I used the search bar and didn't get many results, hence the post.
  4. Hey All - I’ve been using Finasteride oral, Rogaine and Biotin for many, many years. And, I just had a transplant from Dr Nader in September 2022. Id like to stop taking the oral Finasteride and move to a topical product like Keeps that has that plus minoxidil. Can someone provide feedback on this approach?
  5. Hello Guys, I am 2.5-3 weeks post surgery from Dr. Luis Nader getting 3k grafts. I wanted to get some feedback on resuming my Rogaine treatment. Dr. Nader asked that I wait until the 3rd week to resume. If Rogaine helps to regrow hair, generally speaking wouldn't this improve the growth response on the newly planted follicles? Overall my experience with Dr. Nader was great and I plan to post a surgeon review with pics in the coming weeks. Thanks in advance for your help
  6. Thank you everyone, as a point of clarification. I don't particularly or absolutely need to have a long hair transplant, I just prefer it. It's not a must have, it just makes scheduling much easier for me. My first transplant was a FUT and I appreciated the not having to shave my head part. I do appreciate everyone's feedback and will do some additional research.
  7. Hey that’s a good point, I have yet to search for his work. In this video he was explaining the basics of the two types. Thanks for sharing
  8. Hey Guys, I am looking to get a transplant either this year or next year. While doing my research I came across a video from Dr. Gary Linkov on YouTube. He states in Branzil they are most commonly known for doing the long hair FUE transplants. This procedure is not commonly done in the U.S. due to the time intensive nature. Anyone who wants to have an FUE transplant and would NOT like it to be noticeable should consider this. Does anyone know any doctors doing this? Or more about the approach so that I can research?
  9. Thanks to everyone for their feedback. I have enough information to do research now.
  10. Yeah I guessed it would be minimum 2k grafts. No, the hairline is not a concern of mine. I do not want to spend more than $8k - $10k. Yes, I would travel aboard. I heard good things about a doctor in Mexico named Dr. Nader. The YouTube videos I've seen are impressive. @MachoVatoDo you happen to know this doctor?
  11. Hey @JohnAC71 - Thanks for the feedback, I will review that link. Since you stated above to "not go back". Do you know something first hand about this clinic or its practices? Note - post updated with pics
  12. thank you Dr. Glenn. it was FUE, where the donor area is removed.
  13. Hello Guys, I am considering a 2nd transplant and am overwhelmed by all the information, transplant types, doctors, etc. etc. A little background on myself, I am a 44 year old male with a decent front hairline and typical balding in the back. The first transplant helped some but at the time I did not save up and do as grafts as I should. At that time I had my transplant from Dr. Limmer in San Antonio Texas when he was still alive. He has since sold his business to a female doctor. From the reviews it appears she is doing a good job maintaining clients. Before going back there I decided to consult this forum to see what else is out there and really, how they rank in the world of transplants. I was not aware of this site back then and just got recommendations from my doctor and did some research via Google. What do you all suggest to someone coming into this? Set your budget first? Find your preferred doctor then work on budget? Determine how many grafts you need for desired look? Thanks in advance for your time!
  14. I started using Aussie Awesome Volume shampoo and Main and Tail conditioner based on the posts in this thread and I'm pleased so far. When I style it correctly it does make the hair look fuller than Nioxn did. I had a friend tell me recent they were using a Bosley product and felt it made a huge difference. I may try it, however I suspect it's going to be $$$. Which I do like the price of the Aussie
  15. Thanks! I'm not ready to get it done just now, I'm headed to have cosmetic dental work done to fix years of unconscious grinding. So I'll save my pestering him till I'm truly ready to come.
  16. Yeah, I'm seeing the same thing. I sent him and email but obviously haven't heard back. How long did it take for you to get a response? Did it take multiple emails to get contact? Thanks in advance for your help!
  17. Funny. I just asked the same thing on another thread. I have been using Nioxn shampoo and conditioner for many years. I always question why I pay $17.00 per bottle each time I go to the store. Like many others it was suggested from doctors, stylists, etc.I started using it and never looked back. Nioxn does a great job at marketing themselves as hair loss shampoo and some of their products claim to regrow, I am not sure that has been the case for me. It's important to come to places like this to ask the questions you're asking. I realize the aforementioned blurb is probably useless in the way of direction. But I used this thread below which was helpful and from that I purchased some new stuff on Amazon. We will see how these new products work. Hope that link is helpful. http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/159912-what-best-hair-thickening-shampoo-conditioner-combo.html
