  1. I started using Aussie Awesome Volume shampoo and Main and Tail conditioner based on the posts in this thread and I'm pleased so far. When I style it correctly it does make the hair look fuller than Nioxn did. I had a friend tell me recent they were using a Bosley product and felt it made a huge difference. I may try it, however I suspect it's going to be $$$. Which I do like the price of the Aussie
  2. Thanks! I'm not ready to get it done just now, I'm headed to have cosmetic dental work done to fix years of unconscious grinding. So I'll save my pestering him till I'm truly ready to come.
  3. Yeah, I'm seeing the same thing. I sent him and email but obviously haven't heard back. How long did it take for you to get a response? Did it take multiple emails to get contact? Thanks in advance for your help!
  4. Funny. I just asked the same thing on another thread. I have been using Nioxn shampoo and conditioner for many years. I always question why I pay $17.00 per bottle each time I go to the store. Like many others it was suggested from doctors, stylists, etc.I started using it and never looked back. Nioxn does a great job at marketing themselves as hair loss shampoo and some of their products claim to regrow, I am not sure that has been the case for me. It's important to come to places like this to ask the questions you're asking. I realize the aforementioned blurb is probably useless in the way of direction. But I used this thread below which was helpful and from that I purchased some new stuff on Amazon. We will see how these new products work. Hope that link is helpful. http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/159912-what-best-hair-thickening-shampoo-conditioner-combo.html
  5. Thanks! I'll be sure to do that. Appreciate your feedback and guidance.
  6. Thank you for the reply, that does help! Odd I do not see any of those in this product. They claim their products are made for thinning hair and offer items to regrow hair as well. I've ordered some stuff from Amazon that I've read from this thread, let's see how that goes Ingredients list of Nixon shampoo is below if you care to read. Nioxin Cleanser™ System 2: Water, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, sodium lauryl sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sodium Citrate, Citric Acid, Sodium Xylenesulfonate, Sodium Chloride, Cocamide MEA, sodium benzoate, salicylic acid, mentha peperita (peppermint) oil, menthol, mentha arvensis leaf oil, tetrasodium edta, methylparaben, propylene glycol, camellia sinensis leaf extract, cystine BIS-PG-propyl silanetriol, lecithin, urtica dioica (nettle) extract, serenoa serrulata fruit extract, humulus lupulus (hops) extract, citrus paradisi (grapefruit) peel extract, saccharomyces/magnesium ferment, biotin/folic acid/cyanocobalamin/niacinamide/pantothenic acid/ pyridoxine/riboflavin/thiamine/yeast polypeptides, yeast extract, saccharomyces/iron ferment, saccharomyces/copper ferment, yellow 5, saccharomyces/silicone ferment, saccharomyces/zinc ferment, phenoxyethanol, blue 1, red 33.
  7. Guys, What bout Nioxn products? I've been using this for a long time as it was suggested by a doctor, stylist, etc. But I didn't see anyone mention these products.
  8. Excellent! Thanks you! This is exactly the type of information and feedback I was looking for. I'll look into this as well.
  9. It seems you may be misinterpreting my post, or maybe I wasn't as articulate as I should have been. I was trying to be quick to just grab info. I came to this forum, where knowledgeable users are, to simply tap the hair surgeon market and see who provides quality product at a more affordable price. I would never subject myself to anything sub-par or be in a situation I didn't feel would provide the desired outcome. I used this forum to find Dr Limmer some years ago and was pleased with the result. Hence why I'm here again, doing research. I agree with you that not all doctors are created equal. And speaking as someone who has spent money on two another cosmetic touch, I know you can find good products at conservative prices if you do some digging. Finally, to your comment regarding financial means. Dr. Limmer was paid cash and so will the next doctor. I'm not saying that I'm a rich man, but it's not something I need to borrow money to do. Again, the goal is to get the most bang for your buck Thank you for your advice and also the warning about approaching a situation such as this with no research. I have read the horrible stories and seen the pictures. I don't want to and will not find myself in a similar situation. If I need anymore direction throughout this process I will be sure to let everyone know.
  10. Actually the doctor that was suggested was Dr Nader. Seems there's plenty on this forum about the quality of his work, I'll look into it. Looks like my luck is working out :-)
  11. Thanks, someone sent me the information I was looking for.
  12. Good question...I wanna say I paid $3000 something but I don't recall 100%
  13. Hello All, Looking for advice on cheaper options. Back about 4-5 years ago I had my first transplant done by Dr. Bradley Limmer in San Antonio Texas. I do not recall the exact amount of grafts but I think it was 800-1100. In any event I am considering another surgery within the next 24 months. While I enjoyed Dr Limmer's process there were some follicles which didn't take. He said that he would fix it for me but as you may, or may not know, he has has passed. Now his practice was sold to another doctor, she agreed to do something as well, but I want to explore other options first. Thus I am looking for a cheaper alternative. Does anyone know of a cheaper reputable doctor either in the US or outside? He was one of the most affordable ones back then. Is this a safe approach to consider cheaper alternatives? Also, are there any doctors who are reputable in Cancun? Thanks for your help!
