Fuexpert, 2000 grafts - 6.5 months update

Hello everyone,

I have never posted despite having been a member for quite some time.

But here I am with my story:
In Jan, after years of research I finally took the plunge and had my hair transplant with Dr Couto, in Madrid.

I truly admired his work and I liked the way he approached me during consultations and the day of operation.

I started as a NW3 with good density on the vertex and back. My goal was to lower the HL but keep being conservative, which the doc agreed on doing despite he was suggesting a more aggressive approach.

Long story short: I had a 2-day procedure during which 2000 grafts were implanted in my temples and frontal 3rd.

After 6.5 months from the procedure the results are surprisingly disappointing: the right temple is not looking great but much better than the left, where I have not had any progress for the past 2.5 months.
What particularly worries me is that I can’t see a single “baby hair” sprouting, which would keep up my hopes for an improvement in the next months.
I know I need to wait the 12 months mark and that some people take longer than others to regrow, but in my last consultation the doctor himself recognised his disappointment and said that we may need to do a (free of charge) touch up after I pass the 12 months mark.

I am attaching the monthly progress pics.

My biggest questions for this forum are:

  • What could have gone wrong given I followed the instructions given by the clinic to the letter and I did not lose a single graft in the post op?
  • Should I go to the same doctor for the touch up or should I seek a different clinic, maybe specialized in repairs?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

At just over the half way mark it would appear you may be behind the usual timeline for growth. I understand the concern, and i sincerely hope the rest of those 2k worth of grafts kick in soon. If it was still lagging at month 8-9 then it’s more of a worry, this can go one of two ways here. We have seen both occur, and it’s very difficult to call.. For the record I don’t think you done anything wrong.

Thanks for sharing your result with Dr Couto. This is definitely a botched job of dr couto. I would be very disappointed with this result.

Your graft(s) yield is low with lots of multiples in the front hairline.

What did couto say about that bad job? Is he offering a refund for this botched job he is responsible of?

LMFAO

I think you should hold off before jumping to conclusions José.

Yesterday, you were highly suspcious of Michael Hofmann's botch job who has provided more than sufficient evidence to prove he was at HLC.

And now you call this "clearly a botched job" before we have even seen any pictures showing he was actually at the FUEXPERT clinic....

I agree that this looks very subpar and I would certainly be very disappointed...

If it turns out that this is Couto then yeah I'd be asking for free repair or refund.

BUT please wait before making such  judgement.

You didn’t need any before after pictures from michaels case to make your conclusions but now you need.  This is too ironic. When in other case you did not need any before after picture but now you need. Lmao.

This guy here posted normal pictures in a sequence, so we can make a judge about this botched job of dr couto, while Michael did not do that. So that’s the difference. If you can understand we said to Michael to put clear photos in a sequence. But you did not need anything before after pictures of him, but now you need? Hahaha LMAO.
it is good by the way to put here before after pictures from the clinic.

LMFAO ! You're funny

I did ask and I asked twice. Go back to the original  post.

Sequence is irrelevant. What we need is an evidenxe to support that you were in a specific clinic. In this case, there is a sequence but nothing showing he was at Couto's so far.

That said, I agree with you that it looks BAD.

You made conclusions to Michaels case without letting Michael upload before-after pictures from clinic firstly. But now you need them to be uploaded firstly before u make conclusions. That’s too funny and ironic from you.

Here also there is a sequence so everyone can understand and see that this is a botched result from dr Couto with low yield and multiples in the hairline.

While in Michael’s case he did not put before-after photos from clinic and all of his photos were randomly posted without context and sequence.

I do also want to see the before after pictures from clinic.

Hahahhahahahaha you like trolling bro right That was a good one !

Michael showed very clearly that he was in the clinic's apartement and it was confirmed by members who were there.  He also had the exact same tee-shirt with the clinic's logo.

Anyways, I do agree we need to see the official pictures tha the clinic should send. (Which I doubt considering the poor ethics...)

But bro "let's not derail this thread".

OP please upload a few pics showing you were at Couto's clinic and then we will start commenting seriously. Thanks !

I’m not trolling at all. Your a a big troll everyone on his forum knows that (maybe you are the biggest troll)

You keep changing your name every couple of days with troll names and trying to sabotage clinics that you have in your agenda.

So I say again and everyone can go to michaels thread to see that You made conclusions without firstly needing Michael to put before after pictures from the clinic. But now on this Thread you need the before after pictures before you judge.

So that’s too ironic from you and means you are big troll.

Anyway let’s see what OP has to answer here and what proofs he has.

I certainly don't sabotage good clinics.  And everyone on this forum who follows my posts knows it very well ! And yes I do  target hairmills and other crappy clinics.

But yeah ultimately I agree ! Let's wait for the pictures from OP and then will comment on all this. 👍

Hello and thanks for the replies so far.

I do not have pics from the clinic but can potentially post the invoice I got from the clinic, if that helps building trust.

I chose Couto because I wanted a "great" job but apparently this is not even going to be an "average" job - I am pretty sad about that.

The doctor said he is also disappointed and that will be providing a repair for free (and surely I will need that), but I am afraid of getting another poor result and further depleting my donor.

PS: Also I must say, when I went for the check up a couple of days after the procedure I saw and met a number of his past patients, some of them showed me pics of how thy looked and I was mind blown - some truly incredible results!! I do not intend to discredit anyone here, I am merely looking for help.

Bro I'm sorry for your experience. If this is really Couto then I would be CRAZY disappointed too.

Yes Upload the invoice please and ask the clinic to send you pics. Thanks

Idk if it’s me but the density doesn’t look that great. It looks like the punches are kinda big and spaced out behind your hairline.

you may be right, however I am not getting a much of a growth despite the grafts are spaced out

I also realized immediately, as soon as I looked at the photos that the grafting density was not high, I did not read the writing immediately, but I immediately went to the photos, and before scrolling down and getting to the last photos, I already imagined that see this result unfortunately.

Well I wouldn’t be too pressed on that. If those grafts do yield a good amount you can always “address it again” it sucks but sometimes there’s less competition for blood supply like dense packing would do. So if you do get another procedure you can add more density and potentially fill in other areas.
i know that’s probably not what you want to hear right now, but I think you should spread the word on your case, and look for other cases that are similar to yours.
one reference you can use is Melvin the mod he had a lower yield ht (his 2nd I think) but he is also someone I would consider that has slow hair growth.
another one I like to reference is gatsby. His case is an emotional and psychological roller coaster. Don’t fret too much on what’s already done but look at others who have been in your position and plan ahead from there.

don’t forget this isn’t the full result just yet.

I feel sorry for you man. This does looks like a bad result from Dr couto. Poor yield, and too many multiple grafts were inserted in your hairline instead of single ones. Your now need a repair procedure to another doctor, that specialises in removing multiples from a hairline and putting soft single ones in order to look natural, while having high yield of grafts. Even if your doctor offers a free procedure, i would not trust the same doctor after the result you got from him. I hope you find a solution to fix this pluggy hairline. Whats the explanation of Couto for this poor result ?
