Senior Member John1991 Posted September 1, 2022 Author Senior Member Share Posted September 1, 2022 (edited) 5 months and 4 days. The redness is only noticeable in pretty much blinding light, so I’m not too concerned. Still expecting a decent amount of thickening and maturation to come. Next post will be early October. Looking forward to getting a haircut around then to help it blend better as the difference in length is significant. Valued Contributor Gatsby Posted September 2, 2022 Valued Contributor Share Posted September 2, 2022 This is excellent growth for only five months. The hairline is looking very soft. Thanks for sharing @John1991 and I look forward to following your updates! 👌 1 GATSBY 'UNPLUGGED!' 15,671 (3 surgeries) Grafts FUE+BHT Dr. Sethi Eugenix
Senior Member John1991 Posted September 2, 2022 Author Senior Member Share Posted September 2, 2022 (edited) Thanks @Gatsby, I'm optimistic this will end up pretty well because the progress seems steady and good. I think Dr. Bloxham is one of the best at doing cases like mine, so if peace of mind is possible throughout this process, I think I have it. He's been quite responsive in the instances I've contacted him. The guy seems like a first rate person in addition to his surgical skills. At this point, it passes scrutiny (thickness/density wise it does, the length difference is the only issue) in pretty much every situation outside of very harsh sunlight and even in that setting it's clearly improved significantly over the past 5-6 weeks. Valued Contributor Gatsby Posted September 2, 2022 Valued Contributor Share Posted September 2, 2022 @John1991 you have gone to a great surgeon and your growth is very early. This is going to be a home run and already you are more than half way there! 👌 1 GATSBY 'UNPLUGGED!' 15,671 (3 surgeries) Grafts FUE+BHT Dr. Sethi Eugenix
Senior Member John1991 Posted September 2, 2022 Author Senior Member Share Posted September 2, 2022 Thanks. I'd imagine I'm 70-80% of the way to the final density. There probably aren't more hairs to sprout, but I think the thickening and texture improvement should net roughly 20-30% improvement (hopefully).
Senior Member John1991 Posted September 28, 2022 Author Senior Member Share Posted September 28, 2022 The first several are post shower yesterday and all but the last two after that are from today in various lighting situations. The last two pictures in bright sunlight are 3 weeks old. I’m happy and look forward to the thickening, texture improvement, and lengthening (which will help it blend better) that is to come. Wow looks great John. Especially with some time left. The thing I like is it looks natural. I hate insanely dense hairlines because most humans do not have such dense hairlines you cannot see an ounce of anything. Your hairline is still very dense but in a natural way. Keep us updated. I have enjoyed seeing your results month by month!
Senior Member John1991 Posted September 29, 2022 Author Senior Member Share Posted September 29, 2022 Thanks man. I agree. And the hairs on the left side (right as viewed in pictures) of the hairline aren't yet long enough to really flow since they're being combed the opposite direction of the way they grow. As a result, they just sort of stick up. I think when they're longer and thicker it'll look better for sure. As of now, it's no longer an issue in person in my daily life so I honestly don't spend that much time thinking about it. I would say that it looks better in person. It's starting to blend really well with the native hair you can't tell unless you really know what to look for and even then, it's difficult. Senior Member John1991 Posted October 1, 2022 Author Senior Member Share Posted October 1, 2022 My guess is you'll be roughly back to normal-ish in a month or so and then actually normal in 2. Nothing to stress.

Congratulations! 👌 Thanks Gatsby. Funny to learn new Australian slang. I feel relieved that I can go back to living as usual, honestly. The transplanted hair just keeps getting more and more similar to the rest of my hair. I look forward to it matching in length and being just a bit thicker. Hope things are going well with you.

Honestly, no clue. I always wear my hair medium length, so it's no issue with me. Even in the Army I never had a buzz cut or very short hair. I can say that the scar hasn't widened (despite me doing dumbbell presses starting 6 weeks post-op) and that's good enough for me.

Senior Member John1991 Posted October 28, 2022 Author Senior Member Share Posted October 28, 2022 (edited) 7 months and things are slowly thickening. I think it'll still get thicker. It looks very good in all circumstances unless you split the hair apart and even then it just looks how my hair would've looked prior when intentionally trying to make it look bad. Very glad I made the trip to the East coast. For reference. from the glabella to the anterior-most point in the center of my hairline is at or just below 7.5 cm. Glad to hear it. Hope yours is going well. In a few months you'll just go about your life and not think about it much. The transition from "hair transplant" mode back to normalcy (albeit "normalcy" for a hair obsessed person) is great.
Regular Member Jayson1361 Posted November 14, 2022 Regular Member Share Posted November 14, 2022 The best part about your results thus far, is that when you look at your hair line, knowing you’re 7 months post op… you know it’s not going to get worse or recede but rather it will get better. That’s got to be a great feeling. Dig the smile my man👍 congrats.
Senior Member John1991 Posted November 18, 2022 Author Senior Member Share Posted November 18, 2022 (edited) Thanks man. Things are slowly getting a little easier to style, hopefully over the next couple months the hair continues to improve texture-wise. Lately, I've been using a water-based Goon Grease and it's been holding things together very well. The first pic is right after being outside in serious wind, and even then it wasn't too messy.
