Does Native/Existing Hair in Recipient Area Fall Out?

I had about 3100 grafts this past Tues and in day 4 of post-op. I had some native/existing hair in the recipient area (hairline) prior to the transplant. Not a lot but some. My question is does the native hair typically fall out as a result of the donor hair being transplanted in that area? If so, this would make sense since this area just had several thousand holes punched and new hairs transplanted in that area. I assume this would be normal to disrupt the native existing hair. Is that true?

It's normal for it to happen, but it doesn't always happen.  It seems common sensical that the stronger the hair in question, the less likely it is to experience "shock" loss.  I'm not sure if that's actually the case, though.  Other than how densely packed the grafts around the native hair are placed, it may be somewhat random.
