Is topical finastride a good thing?

Everyitme I meet hair transplant specialists for consultations when i ask the questions about using finastride, they always say the pill version. A few times.i have asked them about the topical ones that mix Finastride and Minoxidil, like one I got recently from a brand called FRESHMAN here in the UK but they never agree to it and say they only advise and prescribe the oral finastride pills - why is this? why are they consistently against topical finastride and specifically the mixed one of minoxidil and finastride?

Oral finasteride will always be more effective than topical finasteride because oral finasteride is systemically absorbed while topical is locally absorbed (with much less systemic absorption). The chances of side effects on topical are basically nil, while the chances of side effects on oral will be a little less than 5%. I hope this helps.

My advice does not constitute a patient-physician relationship nor as medical advice and all medical questions/concerns should be addressed to your medical provider.

I have been using topical finasteride with minoxidil as vehicle for 1 year now and its definitely working for me. My hair feels much stronger and I was able to regaine some ground. I have no side effects.
