Regular Member Gareth Posted November 16, 2020 Regular Member Share Posted November 16, 2020 Hi everyone, i had HT two months ago and have been using rogaine since then. Have just bought pure (generic) minoxidil but finding the drops quite irritating. Is there any actual difference between the two? Would it be ok to go back to rogaine and have the same effect? Cheers!
Senior Member DenverBuff1989 Posted November 16, 2020 Senior Member Share Posted November 16, 2020 No difference IMO. Similar to a generic drug vs brand name.
Senior Member pkipling Posted November 17, 2020 Senior Member Share Posted November 17, 2020 (edited) No difference - and in fact, every pharmacist/doctor I know swears by the generic and if there's ever a generic option, they suggest I take it. It's good marketing that makes us question it, and it's quite effective tbh. I even find myself getting duped sometimes and buying name-brand Tylenol, for example, even though I know better. Lol. Senior Member Britanium Posted November 17, 2020 Senior Member Share Posted November 17, 2020 generic vs proprietary I agree there is no difference as @pkiplingsays. Same active ingredients. Just all about the marketing!

My advice does not constitute a patient-physician relationship nor as medical advice and all medical questions/concerns should be addressed to your medical provider.
