RegularBalder
Hi everyone, I'm 23M from India and over the past year I've been shedding a lot of hair. So I went to a dermatologist and my fears came true- I was diagnosed with MPB. Ever since then, I feel as if hair loss has consumed my life. I spend a lot time browsing various hairloss forums, but I wanted to post my thoughts here since I feel as if the community here seems to be more positive minded than in other forums. I've been given a prescription for finasteride, but am a bit hesitant to take it thanks to being a bit scared of the potential sides and also because I don't exactly like the feeling of being chained to a drug for my life for what is essentially a cosmetic condition. At times I feel like just shaving my head would be a better 'solution', just to get rid of all the anxiety. But then I start thinking that I'll look really odd, plus shaved heads aren't really common in India. I feel like since I've learnt that I'm balding, my normal life has come to a standstill. So since a lot of you are veterans of hairloss in its various stages, I just wanted to know how did you cope with losing your hair and how did you move ahead in the other aspects of your life(at least till you thought of hair transplants) Thanks in advance and sorry if all this was a bit long winded😅

Administrators Melvin- Admin Posted September 22, 2020 Administrators Share Posted September 22, 2020 If you haven’t tried to shave your head, try it. While it may not be common, if it’s something you can live with, it’s the easiest solution. 1 I’m a paid admin for Hair Transplant Network. I do not receive any compensation from any clinic. Well, I can't grow a proper beard. It's really patchy when grown out. But thanks for the advice!

And @Melvin-Moderator, saw your video on your hair transplant journey. How did you cope with your hairloss as it kept getting worse over the years? I guess the worst part about this whole thing for me is the anxiety that my hair's going to get worse day by day and my hair's slowly creeping towards the horseshoe look.
