Senior Member giegnosiganoe Posted May 11, 2020 Senior Member Share Posted May 11, 2020 (edited) Some doctors say to pause minoxidil usage 1 month prior to the hair transplant, while others say there's no need to pause at all. Topical minoxidil has a half life of 24 hours, so 1 month seems excessive. But applying up until the day before seems a bit risky? What's the right answer? Senior Member Spidey Posted May 11, 2020 Senior Member Share Posted May 11, 2020 I think I was told 3 weeks or so. I only did for about a week. Like you said half life is only 24, but not sure if it has to do with what the formula does to the scalp as well... Better to ask your doctor. I know increased blood flow can cause grafts to pop and excessive bleeding. My 1036 graft FUE with Dr HASSON. https://hassonandwong.com/timeline/fue-hair-transplant-timeline/
Senior Member giegnosiganoe Posted May 11, 2020 Author Senior Member Share Posted May 11, 2020 I know you should follow your own doctors instructions, but the differences between doctors is concerning. Waiting a month seems extra conservative, but is not pausing at all a red flag?
