Senior Member Kiwi Guy Posted April 1, 2019 Senior Member Share Posted April 1, 2019 We all talk about the big 3 for trying to keep what hair we have left, obviously minoxidil/ rogaine etc is one of them. I've also noticed a lot of us comment on not wanting to continue to use it because it seems to cause hair shedding. Q: In your experience does the hair grow back stronger after it sheds or is it permanently lost?
Dr Blake Bloxham
Kiwi, In general, the hair should grow back "stronger" after an initial minoxidil shed. Do keep in mind that the initial shedding period can last up to 3-4 months, and you really should wait at least 6 (with 12 preferred by most) to tell whether or not you are responding well to the medication. However, you should not really permanently "lose" any hair from minoxidil use. 1 1 Dr. Blake Bloxham is recommended by the Hair Transplant Network.
