what to do with overharvested DONOR area

Recommended Posts

I've had two FUE surgeries and my doctor overharvested my donor area. It is very thin and I'm having a hard time covering it up even with long hair. I'm considering body hair into the donor area but don't know if the body hairs will match my scalp hair or even survive when transplanted.

I'm also considering Scalp Micro Pigmentation into the donor but I'm afraid it will look unnatural if it starts to fade or become a "blob".

Are there any options to make the back donor area look thicker ?

I believe those are the main two options (others can correct me if I’m wrong). I’ve seen pics of smp done on scars and to add density and it looks decent. I think just like hair transplants you need to find someone that is good at smp and has ethics and won’t try to oversell u on it. To be honest I’m not that well versed on smp and if there are any negative health consequences.

ive seen some surgeons try to “homogenize” donor areas where they target specific areas of the donor so everything looks more even while still adding hair to other areas.

who was your surgeon by the way?
