I've seen conflicting feedback on whether it is okay to tan before HT?

I want to tan as much as possible before HT to help with the appearance of the redness.

Any input would be great. I want to make sure it won't affect the outcome

Current Regimen:

.5mg Fin ED

Minox 2x daily

Nizoral 1% 2-3 times a week

Fish Oil capsules w/ Omega-3

I was tan going into the weekend before my surgery and the weekend before heading up to Ottawa I spent three straight days at the beach and got even more tan. You just don't want to burn your scalp or anything like that. My results turned out great.

I have never heard of it being an issue prior to a HT, only after...

My initial HT thread:

done and done!! Check it out...

From what I've read here, tanning and even a mild burn won't prevent a procedure; I remember a post by Dr. Feller about him performing a procedure on someone with a mild sunburn without a problem.

That said...having had skin cancer -- granted, the most mild kind of it -- I'm now 100% sold on avoiding burns or even tanning, ever. My dermatologist made the point pretty clearly when she explained that tanning, even without a burn or in any discomfort, is literally the result of the destruction of skin cells.
