Senior Member Coach Posted June 19, 2017 Senior Member Share Posted June 19, 2017 Is there a difference in Romaine, Kirkland, or Equate's minoxidil aside from the prices? I went from using Propecia to now using Target's 5mg Finasteride a few years ago and haven't seen a drop in quality. Can the same be said for minoxidil ? Bill - Seemiller
Coach, The active ingredients (minoxidil) is exactly the same however, be mindful of the percentage. There is a 2% and a 5% solution. The 5% is proven more effective although anyone who has experienced scalp itch from the 5% liquid has either been advised to use the 5% foam (which I recommend) or the 2% liquid. Other than that, some of the inactive ingredients in each of the types you listed may be a bit different. This could impact the actual delivery of the minoxidil to the scalp but maybe not. I suggest looking at all the ingredients of each of the formulas. At the end of the day, they're all pretty much the same but I think I recall some members claiming they've liked a certain brand over another at one point. Best wishes, Bill
Senior Member Coach Posted June 19, 2017 Author Senior Member Share Posted June 19, 2017 Thanks for the reply. I am also thinking of trying the 82m formula but it is a lot more expensive.
