Regular Member HairThereAndEverywhere Posted December 12, 2017 Author Regular Member Share Posted December 12, 2017 Welp, here I am a little after 6 months and I have to see it's been quite a stressful journey. I'm very happy with where I am at this point. I do hope that the hair on the temples begins to smooth out as it's a little wiry. I hope it eventually matches the hair behind it. I also am hoping to see some more thickening up of the hairline. But I can honestly say I am 100% satisfied with the procedure. In hindsight, it was a no-brainer. Lots of people, and I mean lots, have been commenting on how my hair looks good. I've told very few people I got an HT and people just can't seem to help but mention that my hair looks thick and full. Especially guys who are thinning. I've been asked what kind of shampoo I'm using, or what kind of products, or spray. It's really nice to have a hairline. And the temple points were absolutely essential. As predicted, they were the best part of the whole procedure. I certainly have anxiety about future hair loss as I am not on Propecia. But I can say my hairline is better than it was even five years ago and this boost has been worth the pain, waiting and money. I cannot wait to do HT #2 and sure up the area behind the hairline as well as put 800-1000 grafts in my crown. Here is the hairline at 6 months: Here is the hairline pushed back at 6 months. Not the thickest in the world, but it works. Here is a hairline comparison, pre-op to 6 months: This one is pretty dramatic, and that pre-op photos I considered a 'good day': Here's the left temple: Here's my right temple, which was much worse: And a right temple comparison from pre-op to 6 months: And I didn't do much of any work on the crown but I just want to show people what it looks like with Toppik in. It's pretty undetectable. It doesn't fall off or get on your pillow at night. It does get a little dicey at night when you put in Rogaine. You really have to let it dry or else the Toppik gets on your pillow. But other than that, this product is a dream and I feel naked leaving home without it. I can't wait to get HT #2 and address that crown. I'd love the option to not have to use Toppik but I will probably use it anyway to supplement the density. Regular Member HairThereAndEverywhere Posted February 7, 2018 Author Regular Member Share Posted February 7, 2018 Just did my 8-Month follow up with Dr. Mohebi, so I have some pretty clear-cut comparison pics from pre-op versus now on the same blue background with the same camera. This will be my last post for this HT. So final thoughts: - Getting this hair transplant was 10000000000000% worth it. The amount of joy and confidence it has brought me is absolutely priceless. If you can afford it, you should do it. It is an absolute NO BRAINER. - I'm gearing up for HT #2 with Dr. Mohebi. He said he'd like to spend a couple of hundred grafts spot-checking the hairline and temple points. Next there's some thinness behind the hairline I'd like to address to get to maximum density. And then the goal is to dump the rest into the crown. I'm okay with using Toppik so the crown doesn't have to be perfect. I want the front third to be perfect and the front 2/3rds to be very good. But the crown, I just don't want to be bald. Dr. Mohebi recommends 1000-1200 grafts in the crown. - My goal with HT #2 will be to get an HT that will satisfy me for 8-10 years. I'm hoping we can accomplish that. FYI: Dr. Mohebi estimates that I have 4000 scalp grafts plus 2000 beard grafts to use. Here are the pics, they speak for themselves: HAIRLINE: RIGHT TEMPLE: LEFT TEMPLE: CROWN: DONOR:
Senior Member anotherhairlosssufferer Posted February 22, 2018 Senior Member Share Posted February 22, 2018 I have to admit that the result looks awesome! Great work! > FYI: Dr. Mohebi estimates that I have 4000 scalp grafts plus 2000 beard grafts to use. Is that what you have right now after the first procedure, or what you had before you embarked on the journey? Is that what you have right now after the first procedure, or what you had before you embarked on the journey? Thank you!!! That's what I have after the first procedure. I had above average donor density (2.3) so I should have a decent amount of donor hair. Hopefully, all in all, it's enough to cover the extent of my loss over time!
