Seeking Advice on Hair Loss Regimen

Hi Everyone,

Posting to seek the advice of people more experienced in stopping hair loss than myself. I'm trying to maximize what I can do to slow down my hair loss.

My situation:

I am a 27 year old male that has been experiencing hair loss for roughly 5 years. Hair loss docs have put me at a NW 2 heading into a NW 3. In the past 18 months my hair loss seems to have kicked up a notch. I no longer show my hairline in my hairstyle. My crown is thinning as well. Overall, my hair loss has been slowly progressing over time and has not been catastrophic or sudden.

What I'm have done/am currently doing about my hair loss:

Tried Propecia for 6 months in my early 20s. Experienced sides and quit using it.

Minoxidil 5% daily.

Biotin daily as well.

Nizoral 2% three times a week.

I have also received four PRP treatments. Three were with the same doctor in NYC. He used a PRP + ACell combo. Anecdotally, it seemed to slow the shedding of my hair by the time I had completed the three treatments (one month apart for each).

I recently tried a new doctor after moving to Philadelphia and was not impressed with their services. Getting back to NYC for more treatments with the original doctor isn't really possible at the moment due to job conditions and $$$.

I use Toppik on my crown. It has a nice cosmetic effect at this point.

I have seen, or had online consultations with, several of the best hair loss docs around. Most have advised me against surgery at this time (which I agree with).

Questions:

Does anyone have any additions to my hair loss fighting regimen they'd recommend?

I have a needle roller but have not used it. Found this study, https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3746236/ do you all think it's legitimate?

Propecia didn't work for me. Doctors I've spoken to and the research I've done seem to discount treatments like Saw Palmetto and laser caps. Other treatments I've researched seem like straight up snake oil.

Any help, tips or suggestions are very appreciated. Thanks everyone!

Help Hair vitamins & whey protein can also improve the caliber of your hair. Also, check with you doctor and be mindful of the amount of biotin that you intake each day.

My opinions are my own. I am one representative of MyWHTC Clinic's European branch.
