Transplant Consultation Expectations

Hi Everyone,

 

New member looking for some wisdom from those who have had transplants and the right expertise. I've been researching a hair transplant and recently started scheduling consultations with some doctors. I've prepared questions based on my research and I guess I am curious what to expect from the doctors themselves.

What should the surgeon be asking/doing in these consultations to know if you have a proper professional. Personally I have never had a surgery of any kind so I dont know what to expect. Any advice on this would be appreciated.

actually Spex helpful post, as I had one place suddenly come up with an appointment the next day.

I see you recommend lots of doctors, are they all of equal skill?

How do you decide if a patient should have FUE or strip?

Have you any form of medical training to help you decide if a doctor qualifies for recommendation?

Sometimes small is beautiful as I've discovered Dr Heitman, he told me he has one tech and pretty much does everything himself.in my opinion he is far superior to any U.S.doctor and most Europeans,

I would look for the surgeon to check miniaturization, measure your donor density and your hair shaft caliber. Granted not all docs do the last two but if they do, it's important information.
