Dr. Estimates Graft Number Before FUT

I plan on having an FUT/FUS HT in a few months and my question is this. If you are estimated about 2400 grafts, does the Dr. count the hairs in the donor area and then cut the strip, or is he more or less guesstimating that the strip he cuts will be enough? Or does he remove more than estimated to account for transected follicles? Doctors, feel free to chime in as I would like an expert opinion. :)

The Doctor will estimate that number of grafts by calculating your density and the length of strip they will need to get the required grafts. Of course this is never exact so you need to speak to them about what happens if they get more or less grafts than the 2400 they have quoted.

Every Doctor will do things slightly differently in my experience.

Good luck.
