miller
For a FUE transplant, is there a pre transplant hair length than you should have - how short can you have it ie a zero, a # 1 or whatever Thanks
Senior Member Sparky Posted April 2, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted April 2, 2010 grow it out a bit and let the surgeon decide on the day what length it should be, they will cut it for you. miller
Thanks Sparky, can it be too short?
colyma88
From what I've seen doctors can work with where your hair is at in length. They'll cut it if it's too long and they prefer it short. I wouldn't shave it to your scalp, grow it a little if you have. Best bet is to just call and ask your doc. He'll have the best answer for you and for what he prefers. Senior Member scar5 Posted April 5, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted April 5, 2010 I concur with that. Sometimes a doc will prefer to see your hair with some length before shaving the head. It might be to help them design the HT or assess the different trajectories the hair grows at. The drawback is that a lot of guys figure to buzz the hair off just before the HT to help disguise the transition to no hair, but I don't think the hair has to be real long, just an inch, maybe less
