tgoddy10
Hey all. So I recently had an FUE procedure done of about 1,300 grafts. About 5 days or so after the procedure, I decided to go in my hot tub for about 30-40 minutes to try and relax a little and ease my anxiety. I went in the hot tub another 3 or 4 times before the 2 week post-op mark. Never did I dunk my head under the water or even get my head wet for that matter but now I'm stressing out that it may possibly have some sort of effect on my long term result. Can someone please weigh in and let me know if my worrying is justified or not? Thanks so much!
Senior Member ontop Posted July 13, 2016 Senior Member Share Posted July 13, 2016 You should be fine aslong you never put your head in that water with them chemicals. The first month is very important & go by the book your doctor has told you.
Senior Member Shampoo Posted July 13, 2016 Senior Member Share Posted July 13, 2016 I would think you would be fine as long as you kept your head above water. BTW...as a former hot tub owner who will never own another hot tub I would suggest never putting your head below the water of a hot tub with or without a hair transplant. Dr Blake Bloxham
TG, Doesn't sound like a problem. Be aware, however, that hot tubs are notorious for being friendly environments for bacteria. Particularly some types of bacteria that usually aren't covered by the prophylactic antibiotics given after a hair transplant (if you clinic gives these). Very, very unlikely that any of these ended up anywhere near your newly transplanted grafts, but just keep an eye out for any signs of infection -- excessive redness, swelling, drainage, and feeling like you're "sick" (tired, cold, weak, etc). Again, very, very unlikely. But just keep an eye out to be safe. And call your clinic to double check everything. Always key to get their input on questions like this and to never rely solely on advice you receive online. Hope this helps! Dr. Blake Bloxham is recommended by the Hair Transplant Network. Moderators Al - Moderator Posted July 17, 2016 Moderators Share Posted July 17, 2016 as a former hot tub owner who will never own another hot tub I would suggest never putting your head below the water of a hot tub with or without a hair transplant. Shampoo, I have been thinking of putting a hot tub outside on my patio once I get the fence put up around my yard. I will have to look up some reasons why not to have one now since you've posted here, but any comments would help. Thanks.
