Proscar / Finasteride affected by air exposure? Storage?

Will air exposure impair proscar when you cut the pill into 4? Is it mandatory to store it in an air tight container?

I used to keep the quarters in a contact lense storage thing but since I started taking more vitamins I put them into a 7 day pill storage box/organiser but I noticed it's not airtight.

Zeo,

Are you worried exposing the pill to air will make it less effective? Or are you concerned about introducing finasteride dust into the air while you're cutting it?

I don't think storing or cutting it in any way you described above would do anything to affect the efficacy of the medication. And I don't think pill containers or contact lens cases are really "air tight" enough to create an environment much different than the airspace right outside of the containers either.

If you do have anyone in the house who is pregnant or may become pregnant, the dust can be an issue. Again, I don't think this is what you were referring to when talking about exposing it to the air. But something for everyone to keep in mind when cutting and/or storing the medication.
