Senior Member Dr. Sheldon Kabaker Posted August 31, 2015 Senior Member Share Posted August 31, 2015 This 43 year old African-American female has always had a high hairline. Her hairline was lowered 2.5 cm, which is equivalent to approximately 2500 follicular unit grafts. The first photo was taken from the surgeons view before and immediately after surgery. The following four paired photographs show the patient before and one day after surgery. She returned to work after 4 days with her hair combed over the sutures which were removed three days later. Senior Member pkipling Posted September 1, 2015 Senior Member Share Posted September 1, 2015 Really excellent work. A fascinating procedure indeed. I have a question regarding the logistics of how this works longterm: What happens if the hairs along the hairline eventually start to recede? Since they're not transplanted from the "native/safe zone", aren't they susceptible to eventual thinning, which would then expose the scar? Or is this something a woman of her age would have already seen signs of before, so that there's no risk of this happening at this age? I am a patient advocate for Dr. Parsa Mohebi in Los Angeles, CA. My views/opinions are my own and don't necessarily reflect the opinions of Dr. Mohebi and his staff.
