Regular Member bigwilly1234 Posted August 8, 2015 Regular Member Share Posted August 8, 2015 Why do some doctors say not to take any vitamins after surgery? But they don't specify how many days I'm supposed to wait before taking vitamins. How many days do I have to wait before taking vitamins like vitamin C and vitamin D biotin? I know they don't want us to take vitamins before the transplant because it could make us bleed more during the procedure. Just wondering what the reasoning is for not taking vitamins after the procedure?
Senior Member Spidey Posted August 8, 2015 Senior Member Share Posted August 8, 2015 I confirmed with Dr Hasson that I was able to go back to biotin and supplements immediately after the surgery. If you think about it, if a Dr is telling you not to take vitamins etc after, you shouldn't be drinking coffee either, as it contains caffeine. Even alcohol is allowed approx 5 days post op.. If you can drink alcohol 5 day post op, I would assume you are cleared to consume anything at that point... That's just the way I look at it though.
