marviner
Do you have to take any medications or use any special shampoos post-op if you go with FUT?
Senior Member TommyLucchese Posted March 29, 2015 Senior Member Share Posted March 29, 2015 It's best to take propecia and use minoxidil to prevent the existing hair falling out. No special shampoos needed. You do have to be careful to be very gentle when washing the first few days though. General pain meds are prescribed for the first few days and in my experience they were much needed! 2,000 grafts FUT Dr. Feller, July 27th 2012. 23 years old at the time. Excellent result. Need crown sorted eventually but concealer works well for now. Propecia and minoxidil since 2010. Fine for 8 years - bad sides after switching to Aindeem in 2018. Switched to topical fin/minox combo from Minoxidil Max in October 2020, along with dermarolling 1x a week. Wrote a book for newbies called Beating Hair Loss, available on Amazon
Senior Member Rawkerboi Posted March 29, 2015 Senior Member Share Posted March 29, 2015 Many doctor advise to use baby shampoo for first few weeks, avoid using any other shampoo as it may dmage new grafts! and after two weeks you may start Minoxidil!! Better follow your doctor advise carefully
