speedyt5
I had a transplant three weeks ago. The hairs are shedding, but most of them have this crink in them. If you notice they almost look a little bent at the bottom, in the photo. Also is it common to have dandruff afterwards? I feel like maybe the low level laser therapy they have me doing might be drying the scalp out a little bit too. Is it normal for the hairs to fall out and look like this..Photo attached. Thanks. Senior Member TakingThePlunge Posted September 26, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted September 26, 2014 These shed hairs look perfectly normal. I wouldn't say that dandruff after hair transplant surgery is common. However, mild dandruff is probably not a concern. For more information, see this article from our Hair Loss Learning Center. speedyt5
Thank you, my questions was more that the hairs look bent at the bottom. Not just straight falling out but somewhat bent, as you can see a little in the pics.

Not just straight falling out but somewhat bent, as you can see a little in the pics. It's nothing to worry about. The hairs have had a shock from being moved and detached from the dermal papilla, then shed. Normal hair shedding doesn't have the hooks on the end because it is natural cyclic shedding. In fact, if you pulled out a beard hair with a pair of tweezers you would see that hook shape as well. 4,312 FUT grafts (7,676 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - August 2013 1,145 FUE grafts (3,152 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - August 2018 763 FUE grafts (2,094 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - January 2020 Proscar 1.25mg every 3rd day
