Senior Member gillenator Posted August 4, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted August 4, 2014 Prednisone is usually recommended as a systemic steroid to help with the post-op swelling resulting from the surgery and resulting trauma. Long term use of any steroid is not a good idea IMHO however the amount used post-op is short term and should not affect hair loss in most individuals.
