Hair Science International?

Recently, I've noticed a group called "Hair Science International" advertising pretty heavily in Australian newspapers. They tend to plug AFL footballers (no pun intended) such as Brent Guerra in their slick marketing brochures, but when it comes to the crunch, they appear to be nothing more than another Advanced Hair Studio or Bosley clone.

I'm lead to this conclusion because they tend to advertise deceptively, claiming that their use of laser therapy works and that they use a proven "hair loss serum" (i.e. most likely minoxidil). Additionally, in their newspaper advertisements, they claim to use "The latest in hair cloning/multiplication technology from the USA". Funny! Unless they're privy to some huge scientific breakthrough that even the world's top genetic engineers haven't cracked yet, I'm tipping these guys are just another bunch of quacks?

I performed a search for "Hair Science International" on these forums and could find nothing about this group, which got me thinking that a lot of guys in Australia probably go to deceptive clinics like this without first doing adequate research of hair transplants and what a skilled HT surgeon could do for them.

This being the case, I figured that posting this thread about Hair Science International on the HTN forums would give this clinic at least one search result. In the event that anyone searches them in Google or on these forums, hopefully they'll stumble upon this post and it'll open their eyes, get them asking some important questions and thinking.

I hope it's okay to post their website URL. I'm certainly not plugging this clinic. In fact, I'll be flying for over 24 hours to Canada for my own HT in order to AVOID going to an Australian clinic like this. Thought it'd be a good idea to post their url too, just in case someone performs a search on their website address: **outside link removed by moderator**

Anyone actually had any experience with Hair Science International? Or any other opinions on the reputability of this clinic and their purported methods?

Ha! I've read on other hair loss-related forums that this is exactly what's going on with these guys. Why any professional athlete would want to glue a rug to their head is beyond me!

And yes, the franchise opportunity sounds worrying. That particular section of their website reads like an advert for opening a McDonald's outlet -- even worse, they make it sound as if any layman can become a "hair loss specialist" (as they put it) overnight.

HAIR SCIENCE INTERNATIONAL OF MELBOURNE AUSTRALA - KEEP CLEAR OF THEIR OVERPRICED WIGS

Hi All

I have read your threads below and I can confirm for you the following. SAVE YOUR MONEY. I visited Hair Science International In Melbourne Australia. I was told that from the one hair follicle that was taken from my head, 70 000 strands of my own hair would be regrown in America. Through vanity I was excited about the prospect and paid up BIG Mistake , What I recieved was a $70 hairpiece of inferior quality that is made in China. to confirm comments previous to this you are required to visit Hair Science Intertional every 4 weeks to have your hair re glued and washed at a cost of $70 a visit. Hair science Intertional contnue the spin that it's your own hair - I can tell you it's not and the hair piece even has a serial number that signifies which country the hair piece it was produced in. Yes SPORTSMEN only endorse because they get it for free. PLEASE HEED THIS ADVICE KEEP AWAY FROM CLINICS LIKE THIS AND IF YOU HAVE BEEN SCAMMED SPEAK UP BETTER TO BE FOLLICLY CHALLENGED THAN FINACIALLLY CHALLENGED . There is no such position as a hair loss specialist. HAIR SCIENCE INTERNATIONAL OF MELBOURNE AUSTRALIA NO! NO! NO! - THEY DON'T GROW YOUR REAL HAIR - DONT EVEN VIST FOR A CONSULTATION - YOUR HAIR FOLLICLE CANNOT BE REGROWN INTO 70 000 HAIR STRANDS OF YOUR OWN.

PLEASE SPEK UP

Hi there,

I have used Hair Science and I am really happy with the service I received. The treatment was great and I am really happy with the results. I think different things work for different people and in my case I wasn't let down. The laser treatment and serum have improved the appearance of my hair and the ongoing visits are worth it. I don't know the industry very well but I do know that I am wrapped with the results.

I am not sure how many Aussies did watch it, but about 2 weeks ago, A Current Affair had a story about Hair Science.

It came out that what the clinic sell you is just a wig which is similar to what a few clinics down under offer.

The story finished showing that the wig had a serial number underneath it and that the product was traced to a wig making factory in China.

So much for hair cloning icon_frown.gif

Anyone considering these or AHS should scroll up and look at the transplant website of the original poster of this thread. I clicked the link because I gathered that he made this post before his transplant, so I wanted to see how he turned out. WOW. If ever there was an advert for having a transplant and a great head of your OWN hair! Absolutely incredible results.

2,000 grafts FUT Dr. Feller, July 27th 2012. 23 years old at the time. Excellent result. Need crown sorted eventually but concealer works well for now.

Propecia and minoxidil since 2010. Fine for 8 years - bad sides after switching to Aindeem in 2018.

Switched to topical fin/minox combo from Minoxidil Max in October 2020, along with dermarolling 1x a week.

Wrote a book for newbies called Beating Hair Loss, available on Amazon

hi guys ive noticed that there are a lot of unhappy people about hairscience international, in order to get these companys there needs to be a class action action them. this company traded under hairscience iternational (AUST) pty ltd and is now trading as the hair loss institute although they state that they are different companys, so if there are unhappy people i have been in contact with a guy who is seeking class action against these company's. feel free to send me a private message.
