Did I kill my grafts??

Recommended Posts

I was playing soccer last night. Someone kicked the ball and it hit my head, in the recipient area. I'd say it was a medium power shot. I'm freaking out. Was there any damage done to the grafts? This happened exactly 43 days post op.

I had FUE done.

Thanks guys

Hair321, this is directly from my transplant surgeon's office post-op instruction packet:

"After five days your grafts have thoroughly adhered"

I even asked again when I was in for my procedure this past January and they told me that once the recipient area heals all up, the grafts would have to be surgically removed to fall out. So in short, I think your grafts are going to be fine this far out.

Thanks for the replies!

I'm 100% sure that I didn't dislodge any grafts out, as there was no bleeding or bruising. I guess my only concern is whether or not the grafts can be damaged due to the impact alone. Is there such a thing, especially at 43 days post op?

Hair,

At 43 days post-op, there isn't really anything you can do to damage the grafts. The impact or the subsequent bruising alone couldn't actually affect the hair follicles, and everything is firmly implanted after the first 7 to 10 days.

Altogether, I think you're okay!
