Hi. I wanted to show everyone a pic I took in the bathroom last night with my camera of my donor area. I'm 5 days post op. 3271 grafts from Dr. Ron Shapiro. I went to work this morning and hardly anyone said anything about my stitches. I don't think anyone really even noticed. 1 guy asked me that it LOOKED like I had stitches but I assured him it was only a bad haircut!! Only 2 ladies asked me privately what had happended and if I was okay?? People really don't look at us like we look at ourselves. On a seperate subject, I was wondering if anyone had thoughts on this Graftycte spray. I've been using it the past 4 days per Dr Shapiro's staff's direction. I still have some left. Can you go overboard on this stuff?

bouquek,

Congratulations on your recent surgery. I know a lot of people are concerned about people noticing something different about our scalp. Even if people do notice, most people have enough couth not to say anything. However, you'll always have a few people with "foot in mouth" disease who will make a comment.

Graftcyte spray is said to help aid hair transplant postoperative healing, though I have personally found that time is the best healer. It's probably best to use Graftcyte as directed rather than to go overboard. I doubt using extra will harm the grafts though, given that it's primary ingredient is copper peptide. Be sure to check with Dr. Shapiro for his input.

Best wishes,

Bill

Congratulation on your recent HT with dr. Shapiro. Good luck. Hope you can share with us more pictures.

BTW, the stitches are very noticeable. Another 2 weeks and your hair will cover it completely. Why didn't you leave hair longer before HT?

I am not a doctor. The opinions and comments are of my own.

HT with Dr. Cooley on Nov 20, 2008

2097 grafts, 3957 hairs

You're very lucky as I'm very nervous about that. When I have my procedure I will probably have to return 9/10 days post op and this seriously scares the rice right out of me.

I work with a lot of people, all ages, all kinds of people, all with different levels of pointing things out. YIKES :/

Current Regimen:

.5mg Fin ED

Minox 2x daily

Nizoral 1% 2-3 times a week

Fish Oil capsules w/ Omega-3

Space,

I think I could return to work right now with a hat one my head. Im 8 days post op. However I grew my donor area longer before the HT. I think if you do the same you should be able to hide it very well.

My only issue with that is that I dont want to put a hat on my grafts until day 14.

Good luck

Hi bouquek,

Glad you're home safely. I'm in the process of emailing your photos and surgery data.

You can use up your graftcyte spray. It must be nearly gone.

Heal well.
