Regular Member moose45 Posted December 1, 2013 Regular Member Share Posted December 1, 2013 So I have had a FUE 6 weeks ago and a FUT surgery before that.The FUT gave me a long wide scar from ear to ear. I have noticed that for my recent FUE surgery, no hair was taken from the area just above my FUT scar which I am assuming is to help cover up the FUT scar. So would I be correct to say if I fill up my FUT scar I potentially have more hair from right above the scar to transplant in a future FUE? It would seem a waste of if I use scalp hairs to fill up the scar so I should be using body hair to FUE into my FUT scar? Which part of body would be right to extract hairs for my FUT scar? Senior Member Blake Bloxham Posted December 1, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted December 1, 2013 Hi Moose, Most recommend utilizing scalp hair from the donor region before body hair grafts. However, one quasi-common exception to this rule is strip scar repair. I've seen a number of cases where patients undergo body hair grafting to camouflage and repair an unacceptable strip scar. Most commonly, beard hair grafts are harvested and utilized in these procedures. Beard follicles grow and cycle most closely to scalp hair and traditionally offer the most natural appearance (secondary to scalp hairs, of course). Hope this helps! I haven't been able to find many before and after pics on the net though. Ht #1: sure hair for men 21 years old unk amount of grafts. waste of money Ht #2: 2005 with FUT with Dr Armani. Don't remember the amount of grafts. Great result re building the hairline and frontal thirs HT #3: Jan 18 with Dr Doganay Fue: 2500 grafts, 600 crown, 400 into Fut scar, 400 temple rebuild, the rest into the front third to beef up the hairline. still waiting on results obviously Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

fueonly Posted December 2, 2013 Share Posted December 2, 2013 i would suggest to use chest hair on scar and save beard for future balding when you reach advance stage of baldness and you are depleted with head donor. Their are doctors in turkey who do it for 2$per graft and remember 500$ you get return flight from us to turkey if book in advance atleast 6 weeks before.
