Regular Member Dr. William Lindsey Posted October 22, 2013 Regular Member Share Posted October 22, 2013 This fellow was in last Friday for 2500 grafts to address his frontal third. He’s a machine, having done 2 ironman events, the Canada death march, and the Alcatraz escape triathlon. Also, he pulled my wisdom teeth when I was in 9th grade. Shown are intraop pictures and a postop day 3 picture exhibiting minimal swelling. Day 7 suture removal pictures taken at his office by his nurses are also shown. As you can expect based on his will power, he took 2 pain pills, and immediately returned to work. I’d prepared him for significant swelling and lost a friendly bet to him as he assured me that he wouldn’t swell postoperatively. When I asked how he did it he replied “good genes and willpower" Dr. Lindsey McLean VA William H. Senior Member Patriot34 Posted October 24, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted October 24, 2013 This one is going to have some good results. No doubt about that. His salt and pepper hair and texture is great the cherry on top. Sounds like the type of patient to provide updates on a regular basis too. I wonder if his recovery and initial growth will be faster than the average Joe based on his fortune of not swelling. Keep us updated on this case please! Regular Member Dr. William Lindsey Posted October 29, 2013 Author Regular Member Share Posted October 29, 2013 He was describing his training.... He would run 60 (sixty) miles every other Friday night, up and down a local mountain road using a headlight for illumination. His main comments were about the unique noises various animals made at those odd hours (2-5am). Said it took him 12-14 hrs to do this. Now having personally biked for 6 hrs each Friday evening getting ready for my fun run...I can tell you that to double that exertion to 12 hrs would have been extremely difficult. Clearly this guy has good genes and strong willpower. I agree he's likely to get a good result, if not by surgical success, then simply by "will power"! Senior Member greatjob Posted October 30, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted October 30, 2013 Haha, this guy is old school tough! Reminds me of my grandpa, he used to get teeth pulled with no numbing, he fractured his skull in the first half of a college football game and played the rest of the game, they don't make 'em like they used to. I imagine this guy could scare the grafts into growing...
Regular Member Dr. William Lindsey Posted November 21, 2013 Author Regular Member Share Posted November 21, 2013 Here's a 6 week update. Wendy and I went to his office this week and snapped these pics. He had gone for a short 12 mile hike in the rain before we arrived. Dr. Lindsey McLean VA William H.
