Regular Member hairIosssucks Posted August 15, 2013 Regular Member Share Posted August 15, 2013 im 21. have been on rogaine for 4.5 months now. when i started using it i had a slight receding hairline and thinning on the crown. (you can look at pics on my profile) i apply it all over my frontal scalp and on the crown. but since ive been on it, all of my hairs on my head seem to be diffusing like crazy. its not falling out, it just wont grow. even in my mid scalp. is it possible rogaine can be causing this? Thanks

Senior Member Spanker Posted August 17, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted August 17, 2013 Your photos are not very helpful. I don't see a receding hairline. If you are diffusing, rogaine can cause those hairs to fall to make room for healthier hairs. Sorry I would not be more help, but I have never heard of rogaine causing one's hair shaft to thin. Regular Member hairIosssucks Posted August 17, 2013 Author Regular Member Share Posted August 17, 2013 thankyou for the reply. i didnt start diffusing until i started applying rogaine. i may have overdone it because i was using about twice the reccommended amount. but i never thought it could weaken my hair

Senior Member BrianR Posted September 4, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted September 4, 2013 from what I understand (and Im not 100% sure) is your hair should shed for the 1st 3 or 4 months on Rogaine it actually proves its working...

junaidaj
Hello Brian, I can understand the initial shedding. This initial shedding occurs so that new and healthy hair can replace the old hair. This happened to me and after this initial phase i gained loads of hair, but then after 4 months shedding stared again. Then again i regained the lost hair. Is this the expected cycle or its just an exceptional case? Please help?
Senior Member BrianR Posted October 1, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted October 1, 2013 Sorry I don't know enough about the subject to give you a answer. Future_HT_Doc is pretty smart you should ask him.
