Senior Member CuriousJungleGeorge Posted April 9, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted April 9, 2009 Is it normal for the donor region to feel itchy more than a week post-op.? What's the best way to address the itchiness? (Scratching is probably not.)

Regular Member chantal Posted April 9, 2009 Regular Member Share Posted April 9, 2009 I understand how you feel but it is quite normal and it can last for a few weeks..We just have to deal with it. Do NOT put any cream, aloe vera nor vitamin E oil on your scar... This is the recommendation of ALL doctors.
Regular Member lovestospoon Posted April 9, 2009 Regular Member Share Posted April 9, 2009 Whats the reasoning behind not putting on any creams or aloe on the donor area? I was considering puting mederma on mine when the staples are removed... My Hair Loss Weblog - Hair Transplant with Dr. Hasson
Senior Member Eman Posted April 9, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted April 9, 2009 If you read the instructions on mederma, it states that it is not intended for open wounds. And this applies to everything that chantal stated as well. Once the sutures or staples have been removed and the scar is "closed" or not open, it would be ok to apply this. My initial HT thread: done and done!! Check it out...
