Shockloss/Shedding

Shockloss is the existing hair either near the donor or recipent areas that is lost either for a while or perminantly due to the shock of activity around it.

Shedding is the loss of the new recipent hair often a few weeks/months after the transplant as it goes into a resting stage for a few months and then (hopefully) should grow back.

AdamB is right, but just to add, shedding occurs naturally and does not require the impositon of surgery for it to happen. It is known as telogen and succeeds the catagen phase.

take care...
