Hello everyone! I'm new to this forum. Sorry for my English, it's not my native language. I wanted to share my experience in FUE transplant with Dr. Juan Manuel Rodr?guez J?uregui from Alvi Armani Argentina.

The first transplant took place at Alvi Armani's clinic in Buenos Aires. They put me 1.513 grafts on the first hairline (front and temples). The objective was to achieve a solid, straight hairline.

These are some photos of me a few days before the surgery:

5 months and a half, photo of the amount of hair I was losing after taking a shower ever since the 2nd week after the surgery:

I have to say here that the usual amount of hair I was losing before the surgery was about 15 or 20 after a shower. Since a couple of weeks after the intervention I started to lose from 7 to 10 times that amount. That massive hairloss only stopped (or returned to its normals) after month 8.

Hola Helmut

Buenos Aires muy linda. Mi restaurante favorita e segga la vacca. After looking at your pictures your recipant area appears firstly to be a bit brown then red. It almost appears that area could have been infected because the skin is very rough looking at the pictures. This could be caused by a number of reasons and may be the reason you are losing so much hair. Although its still early its doesnt look so promising so far.

Hola, Lorenzo! Not, it's not early anymore. In fact, it's been one year and a half since the first surgery. It's only that it takes some time to post all the photos and all that.

I must go to bed now but hopefully tomorrow or in the next days I will complete the photo sequence with more photos about the result of the first surgery and some of the second surgery with Dr. Jauregui and his team.

I will omit opinions until I end up posting the case.

Cheers!

PS: I sometimes go to have dinner at Siga la Vaca with friens, what a great restaurant!

On July 27th 2012 I had the second surgery, in which 150 grafts were implanted onto the central area of zone 1. The objective of this intervention was to see if Dr. Jauregui could manage to make hair grow without damaging the scalp and native hair, while risking as little as possible.

Two points that I would like to state are:

1- I followed all of the medical instructions regarding the post-operation care measues in both surgeries.

2- In the moment of my first surgery, my hair fall was stabilized. I haven't had any signifficant receding in at least the previous year. In the moment of the second one, it had been stabilized since 2 months before.

During several months I was negociating with Alvi Armani Argentina in order to get a refund for them as I considered the results to be extremely unsatisfying, but they finally told me that they wouldn't give me the money back because in their opinion the result was possitive (they used this exact word).

Timeline and main events:

1- On September 16th 2011 I had my first surgery with Dr. Jauregui. If I could erase one day of my whole life it would be this one, without a trace of a doubt. I can remember some phrases that Dr. Jauregui said to me on the days prior to the first surgery, when I had my doubts: "it is going to look very well", "The percentage of grafts that don't survive is despisable", "I'm risking my medical licence here"... and in particular one phrase of the clinic's owner: "go on make it... it's just one month and then you forget about the hair". I can't say he has lied to me, I really had to forget about the hair because I never saw it again.

2- On June 2012 I asked the clinic's owners for a refund based in the harm they had caused me, specially the native hair loss, which I had never been warned about neither by the doctor nor by the informed consent neither by the doctor. They answered back that they wouldn't return me the money, but they wanted to practice me another surgery for free.

Here is when I make the biggest mistake of my life, despite the fact that many of my Spanish forum mates warned me against it: I made up my mind in stead of my fears, decided to trust them again and put myself once more in Dr. Jauregui's hands.

3- July 27th 2012, second surgery takes place. 150 grafts, complete failure again. One month after I had already lost tons of native hair and the comparative photos of that moment say it all.

4- October 2nd 2012, immerse in a terrible depression, I went to Alvi Armani Argentina to ask for a refund because the 2nd operation had failed once again. One of the owners was there, and totally shamelessly he denied, in a very bad way, everything I told him: that I had lost a lot of native hair following both the first and the second procedure, that the skin was damaged, that the grafts wouldn't grow... summarizing, he said that everything was OK and if my hair was falling it was because I was nervous. I started to get angry and even though I never used insults nor said anything improper, the discussion grew in terms of vehemence. When he called me "blackmailer" (because I was asking for the money back) I went out of my mind, I stood up and shouting at full volume I told him I was going to sue them and ask for 10 times the money I was asking back then. Then I went out to the clinic's hall showing to everyone there the disaster that they had done to me. The same I did with the building's janitorand I went away. A couple of hours later I received a call from the other owner of the clinic saying that that wasn't the way to solve problems and proposing a meeting 3 days later in a bar. I accepted

5- In October 5th 2012 I had the meeting with one of the owners (not the one with whom I had discussed with but the one who called me afterwards) and Dr. Jauregui in a bar. I preferr to skip the details of that meeting because remembering them makes me vomit. Despite all of what had happened, I decided to trust them yet once again. We had an agreement by which means they commited theirselves to give treatment to my issue of the refund in the board of directors of their company (with the excuse that back then I was in the middle of the post-surgery) and I put off the trial and had to say nothing on the spanish forum. I complied fully with my part of the commitment.

6- On December 12th 2013 we held a new meeting (it should have been on the 5th but it was delayed due to heavy rain in Buenos Aires). They asked me for yet more time, until January 4th, because their board of directors had to have the meeting to analyze my claim. Once again, I accepted reluctantly, thinking that they were really discussing about the possibility of giving me the money back. That day Dr. Jauregui took photos of my head and while I was concentrated on the conversation with the owner he came with a couple of tweezers and did some thing on the implanted zone that left me with pain for some days.

7- On January 4th I spoke to them and they told me they weren't returning the money back to me. The reason was, in their own words, that in the photographs they could see a positive evolution (yes, it was not a writing mistake, you read well).

I want to make clear that in every moment the refund I was asking for was nothing more or less than the amount of money I had paid for the surgery: US$ 3.750. I believe I could well have asked them for a lot of money more because that is what corresponds having in mind the damage they have made me and the cost that the repair surgeries with another doctor will have for me, but I just asked for the amount of money I had paid to give them an easy way out and for me to have the money back as soon as possible. But, despite all my best efforts and will, their final response after so much time fooling me, was a "no".

Helmut thank you for sharing your experience. I am sorry for the mess you are in right now. One of your pictures looks like you have netrosis (not sure how to spell it but that is dead skin), this would cause the grafts not to grow. The clinic name that you mentioned is very well known because of clinics in other countries so many people are already familiar with their reputation.

Looking at this postive your situation seems to be fixable, you seem to have a great donor area. Regardless if they give you your money back or not you are still stuck with a horrible transplant that will need to be corrected. I know it cost alot of money to have a transplant but hope that if you are able to correct your situation that you would study and research before you make a decision.

I would consider talking to Dr. Tykocinski in Brazil about your situation. I am once again sorry for your situation and thank you for showing your pictures.

Hi Lorenzo! You are welcome. I do this in the hopes of getting other people informed about who Dr. Armani and his stuff are because they can cause a lot of suffering just for a bunch of dollars. Sadly, I bumped into Armani's reputation after my two transplants. Maybe if I had seen a lot of the posts of this forum before my decision would have been different, but anyway, I hope the ones who are still making a decision find this helpful.

As from several months I put my recovery in hands of a specialized dermatologist, and I even saw one doctor that makes FUE transplants and has quite a correct reputation who has given me some advice (he didn't say I had necrosis). First of all I need to let a lot of time go by for my scalp to heal, so I'm still not thinking about the correction surgery. If I ever go to Brazil I will try to talk to the doctor you mentioned.

Thank you for your good wishes. Viva Boca!

Thanks Helmut I watched the game River-Boca in 2003 when Tevez played for Boca. It was a crazy game and I honestly was scared watching it. River won 2-0 and the Boca fans waited outside after the game and threw battery, glass and rocks at the River Fans. Crazy fans!!
