Regular Member Angelino Posted November 25, 2012 Regular Member Share Posted November 25, 2012 I am 40 years old and made it to this age with very minor recession. I'm very lucky. But at 40 I began to notice some minor recession to an NW2. I started Propecia in Jan. 2012 had a very minor FUT HT, about 800 grafts for the temple region soon after. It went great. I noticed results in 3-4 months that corrected the problem and the area of HT has thickened up since then as its about 10 months now. But in the past couple months, I've noticed a complete loss of libido from Propecia. So I stopped it. I have hair greed though, and a very thick donor region, and would like to get another HT as the first one was so successful, I could even make things better. I see the opinions are mixed on this forum as to an HT without meds. I am willing to continue to get HTs to fix up the areas so that in the often talked about 5-10 years when there will be a permanent solution, I'll be good up til that point ;-) But I'd like to get some opinions/advice on what I should do. Thanks.
Dr. Glenn Charles
You could try Propecia on more time to see if you get the same negative side effects. If you do then it is just not for you. There is debate as to whether or not Propecia has any real effect in the frontal and temporal areas. You could do additional procedures with time if further hair loss occurs, especially since you say your donor area is good. Should wait at least 1 year before considering having a second transplant in the same area as the first. Regular Member Angelino Posted November 26, 2012 Author Regular Member Share Posted November 26, 2012 Thanks Dr Charles. Another question for you, how many FUTs can one get? And is there any decrease in the success rate in multiple FUTs?
