New Recruit to HT

*I'm living in the UK and I'm seriously considering a HT. I've done quite a bit of research and thankfully I found this forum. So first of all guys, I'm happy to be here and to learn from you all. *I had a consultation with a Ziering group representative who encouraged me to go to Spain for my surgery at a significant saving when compared to UK prices. *I then made an appointment to see Dr Collins in Blackrock, only to discover that the consultation was €250. *Thankfully, I cancelled the appointment.

My research on this forum leads me to consider Dr Rahal, Dr Feller or Dr Ron Shapiro. *I'm very much aware of the importance of going to a great surgeon with an excellent reputation. I'm not on any medication and I never have been, however I am considering it now prior to any surgery.

I'm in my early fifties, Norwood V and as yet I've posted no photos.

I'd welcome any comments or opinions on doctors in the UK or on those I've already mentioned.

I look forward to the long journey ahead and your support.

Goldie,

Welcome to our discussion forum. If you live in the UK and are looking for a great surgeon, I strongly recommend considering and consulting with Drs. Bessam and Nilofer Farjo of the Farjo Clinic. They have an excellent reputation and in my opinion, are performing high quality ultra refined hair transplants on par with leading surgeons in North America.

Best wishes,

Bill

Definitely give the Farjo's a visit. But don't hesitate to consult with the other North American doctors you mentioned. The more opinions you get the more informed you will be.

Dr. G: 1,000 grafts (FUT) 2008

Dr. Paul Shapiro: 2,348 grafts (FUT) 2009 ~ 1,999 grafts (FUT) 2011 ~ 300 grafts (Scar Reduction) 2013

Dr. Konior: 771 grafts (FUT) 2015 ~ 558 grafts (FUT) 2017 ~ 1,124 grafts (FUE) 2020

Thanks Bill for the advice.

I'll follow up with Drs Farjo and let you know the outcome.

I've been looking through your photos and your HT is totally amazing. The hairline is completely natural and I'm sure you're amazed and proud of the outcome. My questions concern your scar, which looks horrendous.

How did you disguise it when you went out? How long was it before it was hidden? Finally, when you go for a HT, does the surgeon automatically shave your head?.

Anyone who wishes to provide comments or advice would be most welcome.

Congrats Bill on a superb result!!

Goldie depending on what procedure you opt for if you choose fue the Dr will generally shave a large area of your head. If you choose fut (which i did) the Dr will shave a strip around the back from ear to ear possibly 1"/2" in height (depending on how many grafts you go for). If you check out the photo's on my second ht you will see the picture i'm talking about, regards.
