I was recently told that adding 1 oz in a spray bottle and filling the rest with distilled or spring water, saturating the scalp, that it cleans the hair follicles and can produce hair growth. I have been using it once or twice a week for about 3 months. It seems like a quality product. I like it and have re-ordered it. It may or may not be as good as straight apple cider vinegar. I was worried a bit about odor and if straight apple cider vinegar could affect hair color, so for ease of use I went with this product. This product has some odor but not overwhelming. As far as results I have not grown a mop, but i think this product is probably like minoxidil in that it's not going to grow tons of new hair, but it may play a small role in allowing you to hold on to the hair you still have. Which is a very important and under-valued part of the hairloss battle. We all worry about "new hair" but the hair we still have is extremely valuable and should be "guarded" with utmost care by some of these products that may play a role in slowing hairloss. I think there are some experts in the hairloss field that feel something on the scalp may play a role in hairloss. Something that may hasten or allow DHT damage. Almost like some dermal microbe that causes some chemical changes to the follicle that then allows the follicle to be more prone to DHT destruction. So some feel that apple cider vinegar could possibly do a good job of cleaning the scalp of such problems. Who knows? It's all theory, but I've always been a believer in apple cider vinegar for other health reasons. Apple Cider Vinegar before bed can halt acid reflux. So I use this product in the belief "it cant hurt" once a week. It does have a smell when you spray on the scalp, but when I rinsed it with water the smell immediately went away. Yes has been proven that it is best to use Sulfate free shampoos and conditioners, as other products leaves a film on hair and even scalp, this is what can plug the hair follicles. Apple cidar vinegar unplugs the follicles. I use it only 1x per month. And wash with Loreal Sulfate free shampoo and conditioner. Works wonders and I have seen tremendous growth and healthier hair. It is also suggested to massage scalp to get blood flowing and stimulate the scalp. I would be interested in trying the shampoo. Do you have a website for it, and its cost? Mi77 I am not that familiar with hair systems providers, but there is a section on this website dedicated to hair systems. I did try Hair Club for Men over a decade ago and although it looked really, really good I just could never get used to it being fake so I had it removed. I would think if someone is interested in saving money or going the cheap route that a hairpiece may not be the route they should go. Because with a hairpiece you want to go with the very best so it is not detectable to the average Joe. HairClub was very professional with me, it looked really good, and they refunded most of my money when I had it removed. It just was not my "cup off tea". He has been seeing the commercials, and though he hasnt said much concerning it, I feel he wouldnt mind... His question would be not alot of maintence, natural looking and not thousands of dollars, and not having to go where people know hes buying one, to keep his privacy. This would be new for him, so spending thousands on trying out, would not be best... I will look again today and if I find anything I will share details. There is some "glue" involved to hold down the front that I found a bit un-nerving and at times the glue can be messy. It was unbelievable to go from thinning hair to all of a sudden having plenty of volume. That part was fun. I am not sure what their policy is now, but back then they offered refunds (which I got) if you decided after a certain amount of time that you didn't want it. The problem though is when the remove it the top of your head is pretty much shaved down. So if you remove it, you will have a balding look or shaved down look on top until the hair you have grows back. So he wouldn't be "spending thousands" trying it out if they still offer the refunds. I will say it took me about 6 months though to get my full refund, but I did get my money back. Hairclub does provide good privacy at their office/salon. Their hairdressers were very nice and top-notch. I guess you aware that he would always need to go to Hair Club for "servicing" and a haircut every 4-6 weeks? The service appointments used to be about $75 and I am sure they are more now. It just depends on the person whether they can stomach wearing a hairpiece. Lots of guys love it, but it wasn't for me, but it might be if all other options were exhausted before I would accept being completely bald. I think they are the best natural... The one from hairclub was it lace material, and was the hair human hair or synthetic? I have read that hair club has free consultation but I didnt know about 4-6 week maintenance. I can pretty much maintenance for him...how long did the glue last? I think he would like the full lace as it is thin and ventilated and allows the natural hairline to blend in. But probably not alot of hair, a thinned out version but yet natural as possible. Like I said it's been a over ten years, but it was some kind very thin mesh material....and it was anchored in where there was no way it was ever coming off except at the servicing. The mesh would breathe and was virtually undectable except upon very close inspection. I could blow-dry my hair and use a brush...it was very permanent feeling in that you felt no need to be careful. I will say that sometimes when a natural hair is out of place you can kind of feel it, but with a hairpiece it's not quite as easy. So I was always worried "does it look funny?"..."is something outta place?" because you know it's fake. People look at you and you think "do they know?". Maybe I was just too paranoid...lol. The glue was used at the front I guess because they can't really anchor the front as well. It was like a thin small piece of a tape material. They may have changed that now? It seemed like after a couple of hot showers and/or blow drys with a brush the front would get maybe just a tad loose feeling or kind of gooey feeling so I would clean and re-apply some glue. It wasn't a huge hassle, but sometimes it would be slightly messy removing the old and applying the new tape/glue. They said many of their long term clients would buy an additional hair-piece that they would keep at the Hair Club salon so that when you went in for servicing they would trim your natural hair then anchor the second unit so that the appointment would be much shorter. That way there was always a fresh, clean unit at the salon waiting for your next appointment or if something happened and you needed it. My wants the human hair with a slight wave as his hair has a little wave pattern to it. The lace is incredible because it looks to be so thin and light weight, and to have the invisible hairline as though it is growing from the natural hairline. Growing up, they didnt have anything like this lol... It was a bad toupee that looked like one. Very excited to see what they say. I wonder do they make a natural glue to keep it on. Hair Club did all the fitting, hair color and texture matching, servicing, cutting, for me. I think it was some type of bio-friendly adhesive they used. Maybe the adhesive has improved as well. Each person has to decide what's best for themselves, but a hairpiece must be nearly 100% undetectable for it to be a success, so I would be careful of economical do-it-your-self type offerings. It was 1 hour phone consultation, she answered all my questions, srnt my photos by email. Since I had measurements of his head where the unit will be placed, I will not have to order a custom unit, nor did I need to send a mold of his head. The color and hair texture is a #30 highlights in a slight wave. The density is 65%, and we are very happy. It will arrive in 7-10 business days. We will try this out first and then if he likes we can go to a custom unit. She sent a few videos, very short, but gave tge basics. They will also send step by step instruction. They have been around for a while but dealt ladies units, so happy that now deal with the men as well. The units are very nice from photos, I chose the french lace and my total with shipping came to $522. We are very happy to save money and also ve able to talk by phone with for so long and ask many questions as needed. As soon as it comes I will send you a photo of what it looks like on him... This is really boosting his self esteem and he hasnt even received it in the mail. But he is hapoy and that makes me happier:)))) Seems like a good company with great communication.
