Ketoconazole/Nizoral question - How much should I use?

So I am using the 2% twice a week, I will wash my hair with regular shampoo, rinse, and then apply the Nizoral, only to the top section of my head, leave for 3 minutes and then rinse out.

I am finding that the smallest blob (maybe the size of two average sized peas) from the bottle can lather up a decent amount to cover the top of my head, but I am just worried that I am being too reserving and not applying enough. what would be the correct amount to apply?

Also, is it worth shampooing 3 times a week, or?

MyNameIsRich,

In my experience, using Nizoral 2% more than twice a week can lead to dry hair and a potentially itchy/dry scalp. But I imagine everyone has a slightly different experience.

It sounds like you're using a fine amount of Nizoral to me. You could also consider alternating it with Revita shampoo, which is much gentler on the hair and still contains 1% ketoconazole.

I hope this helps.

Bill

Also if you dont like Nizoral as it may dry out your hair. Check out Regenepure Shampoo.. Here is a review about it. I ordered it already as a replacement to Nizoral.
