Is it required to shave or trim your existing hair to do the transplant surgery?

Hi, I am planning to do a hair transplant and have a doubt whether it will be required to shave off or trim my existing hair to do the transplant. There is a function that i need to attend after 2 weeks and concerned whether it will make me look odd.

It depends on the doctor you choose, some shave others do not. When you are making an appointment ask them what they typically do.

I am planning to do the transplant done by Dr Manoj Khanna of Kolkatta, India. Anyone here knows how he does the surgery or any feedback?
