kaviar
I had a transplant done more than six months ago and there is still no sign of new hair growth. Is this very unusual? I have to add that I have had several transplants done many years ago. Thanks, kaviar
Senior Member Janna Posted October 31, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted October 31, 2011 Yes, it's unusual to see no growth at 6 months post op. Do you have pre-op and 6 months post op pics to compare? Growth may be more evident when you see it side by side to pre-op. It shouldn't matter that you had previous surgeries years ago. Regular Member folliclehero Posted November 1, 2011 Regular Member Share Posted November 1, 2011 Have you talked to your surgeon? Hopefully he either has a very good explanation, or he'll give you another one with a steep discount. Maybe you're just a very late bloomer. Senior Member hairthere Posted November 1, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted November 1, 2011 You should have some growth at 6 months. Post pics and you'll get more/better responses. Regular Member Brazilian111111 Posted November 19, 2011 Regular Member Share Posted November 19, 2011 . . Hi Kaviar. 6 months? It is early to be worried. Concerning about "several" hair transplants in the past: if we talk about 2 surgeries in a same recipient area, no problem (sometimes the 2nd one may achieve even better survival rates, believe). But you are talking about "several transplants". In this case it depends on your skin tendency of forming collagen and/or keratin (i.e.: queloid scars). Even though the cuts made in your skin on the past procedures may not be visible, it is possible that we are talking about a skin with micro scar tissues. Hair follicle hardly grows in a scar. But probably it won't represent a problem for you. wait 4 months more to start worrying, ok? Best luck for you. . .
kaviar
Thanks for all your replies. It's now been over 7 months since my procedure and I'm still waiting for the big break-through. Trying to be patient
