Regular Member Vinny1980 Posted October 20, 2011 Regular Member Posted October 20, 2011 So I am about 3.5 months in with Dr. Madhu's transplant of 3100 grafts, will post more pictures. I recently got a haircut and the barber used a #4 blade. I was a bit shocked as I had kept my hair long, but the scar is clearly very visible. I spoke to an HT doc in the area and he said it's much wider than he does on his patients. I was wondering, is this the finished product for the scar? I know the recipient area takes more than a year to reach its full potential, but what about the scar? Does it get any better after this? Or anything else i can do minus a scar revision? So far there is slight growth in the front and I am happy there, I just was wondering about the scar as a 4 blade is pretty long, I don't plan on keeping it shorter than that, but was very surprised. THanks in advance for any advice/comments. I posted the pics of the scar below.

I am not sure but I guess I got a almost similar looking scar line..I am almost 2.5 months my H.T. and if this is very a bad and wide scar, than `m really very scared regarding my Scar...though `m not much bothered about it as it is covered...but still, if this is not world class...than its a concern... I will post my pics at 3 month mark...but can anyone please comment on the scar of Vinny.... @ Vinny - When did the growth start? Edited October 20, 2011 by simplycomplicated
Senior Member RodG Posted October 20, 2011 Senior Member Posted October 20, 2011 Hi, Your hair looks very thin where the donor scar is and appears to accent the scar. The picture doesn't show whether the scar is wide or pencil thin. Are you able to tell whether the scar is wide? The redness will over time become less so than what you have at the moment. Good luck. Regards rod
Regular Member Vinny1980 Posted October 20, 2011 Author Regular Member Posted October 20, 2011 Hi Rod, Yeah the scar doesn't appear very thin. Yeah if the redness goes away then maybe it will look a bit better I hope.
Senior Member aaron1234 Posted October 20, 2011 Senior Member Posted October 20, 2011 It's not a great scar but it's not horrible either. You do seem to have some shock loss around it which will make it more apparent for the time being. The redness is completely normal at this point.
