Senior Member RodG Posted July 17, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted July 17, 2011 Hi, I'm not sure if a HT surgeon in Australia would be interested in reviewing your progress. Are there any issues that you are concerned about at this stage regarding your progress? I had my HT in Thailand in 2010 and had my local GP remove the sutures. I am going back to Thailand for a 12 month review but wouldn't do so if I wasn't already going there for a holiday. Who did your surgery? Can they offer you advice and support ? I remember that early in the process I went thru a stage of having great doubt and suffered a bit of anxiety but it all worked out well. Good luck. Dr. Glenn Charles
Most reputable hair restoration physicians realize that patients often travel to have the procedure done and will see the patient as a courtesy. I often do suture removal for other doctors and would ask them There are some very good clinics in Australia. Senior Member NEWHAIRPLEASE Posted July 20, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted July 20, 2011 Dr Charles , is a PCP more then capable of removing the sutures? Dr. Glenn Charles
As long as the wound is properly healed it should not matter who removes the sutures as long as it is done carefully. Most PCP's are more than capable. It is important that for an additional 1-2 months after the sutures are removed that you avoid intentional flexion of your neck. ( No chin to Chest ). This could lead to a widened scar in the donor area. Senior Member haircut Posted July 20, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted July 20, 2011 That is a great point. I have been through several HT's and always gone to my PCP for suture removal.
